Brenda im so sorry you cant see it ,it is so funny. I will explain it a little bit. It is the music to Funky Town its a fast beat and it is a feeder camera catching chickadees and tufted titmouse at the feeder eating. But they put it to the music and speed it up and it looks like the birds are dancing and getting jiggy with it. The titmouse is the main character and the chickadee dances along and drums with his beak. Its really cute. And it is real pictures i think they put to video ,its not computer make believe. Its the titmouse being dominant over the feeder and the chickadee looking for danger and cracking seeds but it looks like they are dancing and drumming, very funny, I wish you could see it.-------bonnie

Laura, nice pics! Yes to everything johnjsr said. Definitely a Carolina wren...aren't they cute...and so much song from such a little bird. And definitely a young red-bellied woodpecker. He's learning already that your feeder is a nice supplement to his insect diet. Not many woodpeckers are very interested in regular feeders, but the red-bellieds always comes to mine. And when they're feeding there, they RULE. The other birds stay away from them. That beak is formidable, I guess. You're lucky to get a shot of a titmouse at all. They tend to move in fast, grab one seed, and take it back to a branch somewhere to hammer it open. (They hold it with their feet and hammer at it with the sharp tip of their bill. They can't crack sunflowers like cardinals do without a this bit of strategy.) They do tame down if you work at it, and I've hand fed some titmice at one of the local parks before who will take peanuts from you. But more often, they are fast and shy. Thirty-four years ago when my husband first took me to the rundown overgrown "farm" that became our home the first bird I saw was a towhee! That sighting helped make me amenable to the task that was ahead of us and with us for the rest of our lives. It's a wonderful bird spot.

Ah geez, you're right. It happens that I took pictures of an adult song sparrow and an adult (female) house finch this afternoon, also, and I managed to confuse myself. I've only seen a song sparrow go to the feeder once; most of the time it's on the ground under the feeder. I guess I just wanted it to be a song sparrow. It was the eye that misled me more than anything else. I expected it to be more pronounced in a house finch. But I just have looked more closely at the shape of the beak. I guess there's no way to fix a topic title here, is there. Thanks, Dave
