Thank you Ruth but it has to be dumb luck and maybe just the location. These roses do love our climate. Karenleigh, if you have the room I think you need Peggy. Perle d'Or is about my favorite also. Never a problem in the world. Huttnem, I'm space challenged also. So many roses and so little space. Thank you Mary. My Peggy Martin is planted in the worse location in my garden and still thrives real well. Maybe she loves harsh conditions huh? SeattleSuze, I know very well about the size possibilities of Peggy. I've talked to her on a couple of occasions. She had a pic of one that her brother grew and never pruned, scary to say the least! I think yours will love the beautiful structure you've made. Thanks Florence. The story of Peggy was what made me have to have her although I don't have the space.

Nice photo, Bob! I was logging on here to find out when the hummers typically show up in PA. Looks like they're already here. A friend gave me a hummingbird feeder last fall, and I was wondering when I should set it up. I used to live in Texas, where you don't see the hummers till late summer. I used to sit out on my terrace where I had some feeders set up, and the hummers would actually get in my face to check me out. I saw one -- only one -- hummingbird in my garden here in PA last year going for my butterfly bush. Time to put out the feeder!

Thanks for the nice comments everyone :) I know it seems that they are not much to look at, but if I could have got a closer shot of these they are stunning!! They have surpassed the size that was stated they would get in height. I just wish that the flowers would not fall off so easily....they are very delicate. Lorna: I have seen a few hummers visiting them. I am on year 2 of my complete landscape makeover and am outside a lot...but believe it or not, I don't have time to watch all of the time because I am so busy. I will have to check into the hummingbird mint. Is there a certain variety. Sorry if I sound dumb. ctnchpr: I cannot believe how healthy they are either. I believe these are the best plants I have ever grown. I have never even had a leaf go ugly or crispy. I believe this is why my brown thumbprint was not left on them :) Cameron: Oh, but I just love them in my pots....I think the hummers probably like them better too because they are higher off of the ground.

When you prepare dinner, prepare enough to have leftovers. As you clean up after dinner, pack the leftovers into the containers you'll grab in the next day or so for lunch. Doing that makes lunch prep a breeze in our house. you won't have time for gardening, knitting etc. You'll have to figure out a way to prioritize to make room for the extras. Saturdays and Sundays willl become newly structured as well...errand running and the hobbies become relegated to those days. Knitting while at work....uh, I'd suggest you drop that idea. I have yet to run into an employer who would tolerate that - you weren't hired for your knitting skills, were you? It's going to be trial and error. You'll evolve into patterns that work...and it will take time.
