Before PETA comes after me, it's zinc. :D It's from a 19th century boucherie chevaline or horse butcher shop in France. I purchased from a San Francisco antique store's website (The Butler and the Chef). Here's a photo of it from their website: I first saw one in the back of Veranda or Southern Accents. Called the antique store in Atlanta - 6K. :( I hunted and hunted and hunted until I found one semi-affordable without any damage (they have holes much of the time). It is the most expensive accessory I have ever purchased. We live in a horse community, so it's fitting.....and I counted it as a Christmas/Anniversary present. I can justify any purchase. lol At its new home: Someone suggested I buy more to go over the other doors. lol Don't think so. Less is more sometimes. imo, it's balanced out by the things above FP on other end of room. If you really want one, 1st dibs usually has several on their website. The first one is not a bad price - less than I paid - but it has some damage. The 6500 one on the red horseshoe is actually the one I saw in the magazine. The USDA has at least parts of Baltimore as zone 7b, but it's still a fair question if the landscaper has experience with this variety doing well there. My suspicion is that the 'Yuletide' that isn't doing well was planted too deeply, but there are other possibilities that need to be investigated (root-chewing critters, planted too far from irrigation source, etc.) Since some of the plant seems to be fine while the rest looks like dead wood, I also wonder if part of the plant got damaged somehow... herbicide drift or something falling on the plant? It can take a while for camellias to "show" that they've been damaged, so the connection might not be obvious. I agree that if the dead wood gets cut out, the plant will probably survive if babied in a pot, but that's not what you paid for. If your landscaper put the camellia in improperly, they should replace it for you. Good luck, Virginia

I'm not brilliant at ID's but that first one is a stumper - there really aren't many roses with fimbriated petals and it's not any of the more common ones I know. If you don't get any more replies try posting this query in the Antiques forum - more people will se it there. Also, it's worth pulling off a whole set of leaves (the five or seven leaf stalk) and posting them close up, front and back, against a white background. As for the red, I'd try contacting Heirloom - I believe they are usually pretty good about IDing and correcting mis-labelled roses.

can you put in a new vanity light? there is nothing spa-like about it. You can put that one aside, (find a cheaper option w/lights that point down!) and install one of your own. this one is from lowes Ditto w/knobs on the cabinet. and maybe a new window covering. You can find bamboo blinds at lowes. grab a few plants and hang them from the ceiling like shown. (get little screw in J hooks. that can be removed and patched when you leave) see how cute? find a garden stool (HomeGoods) and put it between toilet/sink. or under window. bring in baskets. maybe hang a shelf over toilet. get some towel hangers. pretty towels. greenery, some pictures. maybe paint the wall a diff color. bamboo blinds, wicker baskets, new rug. all will give you a diff feel. how about some type of bamboo shelf caddy? maybe next to toilet or somewhere else? But you need to start w/a light fixture! these are simple DIY privacy shades i'd prob find a larger rug. one that spans toilet/sink, and covers a good portion of the tile (not these colors,,,just showing you the size large fluffy, washable white one, would prob be best get something that stretches from door to wall and tub to toilet or, try a wood / teak or bamboo, mat for exiting the shower and get a smaller rug for in front of the sink. you really shouldn't have a toilet rug. (I mean, you can, unless you have 3 guys using this bathroom. in that case it would get kind of gross.) they have a cork mat too hide the toilet supplies on the other side. maybe find a storage caddie for those
