Some things it's useful to know: Is the rose fragrant? what kind of fragrance? How big is the parent plant? Does it bloom singly or in clusters (looks like small clusters), or both? Does it reflower? how much? Does it set hips? what do they look like? It's a beautiful rose, no wonder someone (who?) propagated it! Melissa

It would be easier with the branch in my hands (as you have it), but even from the pictures, it took me about 15 minutes online to google the search terms you were *handed* about this plant, and narrow it down to a few possibles. It took another 10 to go through pictures for the possibles, and get it to one. (((Are weeping cherry or black tupelo (of all things...) used in South Asian cooking???))) Now, do your own homework!! Follow the trail of breadcrumbs you were given! Use your brain, and track it down. Then, if you need to be sure, use your nose. Crush a leaf and smell it. And talk to someone who cooks. Again..... Do your own homework!

This is still not it, darn!! In my photo the part where the fireplace juts out into the room is the only area that is painted aqua - or maybe a softer robins egg. The large piece in my room is dark- a chocolate brown sofa which if you picture, aqua walls, dark gray mantel, brown sofa - it just doesn't sound great, yet there was something in my picture that pulled it all together. Maybe it was the color of the other walls, fireplace surround, chairs??? I don't know, but as I said, I just can't remember why but it spoke to me, and it wasn't something you would see in anyone else's room (except obviously the one in the pic). It began when I saw a pic similar to the one you posted, with a black mantel. Wanting to do something other than the predictable white mantel, but concerned the black would be "too" much with the brown I considered a darker gray - then I saw the pic and I realized it was doable. "My bad" for losing the darn thing. Over the last few years the mags I have received that I might have torn a page out of are, Family Circle, Womans Day, Good Housekeeping and possibly Southern Living/Accents but I have searched their web sites with no success. I have to put it out of my mind for now, and the FP mantel won't be sprayed in the next few weeks, but I do appreciate everyone's efforts. Lynn fr CT

Thanks again to all who have been so kind and helpful... this site has the greatest people anywhere! Sadly, the two front-runners are stretching their lead -- they both jumped up by 60 votes each overnight! Not sure how they're doing it, but it's rather discouraging. The contest goes on for another week -- ends Sept. 12 -- so who knows what will happen. Again, many thanks for your encouragement and support. I really appreciate it! Nancy
