Just beautiful! I notice that the green doesn't show up too well on your pictures, just like it doesn't show well on mine. American ladies are one of the most beautiful cats with the green, red, and black colors. I especially like the greenish yellow chrysalides, but the brownish gray ones are more common. I've raised many American ladies, and it's amazing how quickly they grow, pupate, and emerge as butterflies - swallowtails take MUCH longer! On behalf of the American ladies, I thank you for all that work you're doing to raise them! Sherry

Very nice! Now you just have to get the same shot in breeding plumage. Claire

I am so impressed. What does the WV mean. This present will be a big success. What did you do your dissertation on? I love the outfits. I had an afterschool American Girl Club when I taught at am elementary school where the girls were very poor. Lovingly they took a turn combing and braiding the doll's hair. We had Addie. I read her story as they listened and got lost in her world. Of course we had a tea for the girls and their mothers at the end of the school year. We kept it real. So expensive to own them. I have friends whose children have and want the furniture and all the other stuff that The American Girl has. We have a store here. They have so many dolls and I wish at least one little girl would understand how precious it would be to give up one of theirs to the school where I taught.

Genealogy is another of my interests. I've been at it 40 years and have almost 15,000 names in my file at http://www.perilloux.org/family/origin.htm Unfortunately, because of the French Revolution, WW1 and WW2, I was only able to trace my French ancestry back only to the early 1700s. Here is a photo from sometime before December 1877, taken with an unknown camera type. Looks like something out of the wild west, but it was in Louisiana.
