Could it be early blight or another blight? I took my affected plant leaves to a local store where they have gardeners who have been gardening for years and that is what they told me I and my entire garden community had. If it is blight, remove all yellowing, dead branches with some clippers and throw the affected branches away. Sanitize the clippers after use. Water with a soaker or be careful with the hose so it doesn't splash up onto the plant. Some people will spray fungicide others will just remove the affected leaves and not spray anything. You may be able to do that too because we are far along in the growing season, at least in my area. My community garden is picky so I could only spray some potassium bicarbonate (bi-carb old fashioned fungicide). They do look a lot better now that I sprayed. Your plants are really robust looking so maybe just removing the leaves would be enough? The only thing is, is that if you have to remove too many leaves I've read it can cause some sun damage. Sammy, You should divide mums every 2 to 3 years in the spring. Also, remember that you can pinch them back through about July so that they'll branch out and make shorter but fuller plants. To replenish the soil in your containers, add compost, cow manure, a little bone meal and an organic tomato food--I like Espoma Tomato-Tone. You can use the same soil forever as long as you keep adding organic matter to replenish the nutrients that are used up by the plants and leached out by rainfall and irrigation. There are some cut-and-come-again lettuces that have some crispness or crunchiness to them, but they won't be as crisp and crunchy as an iceberg type. I've linked some lettuce blends from Renee's Garden Seeds below. Her descriptions for each lettuce normally tell you if the types in a given blend are crunchy or crispy (or not). Summertime and Gemini are two that come to mind that are fairly crunchy, and so are many of the romaine lettuce types (though, once again, not as crispy or crunchy as iceberg). "Blush Batavians" and "Summer Bouquet" are two of her lettuce blends that she describes as crispy. You can grow anything you want in containers provided you have enough containers. I always soay grow what you like to eat! For virtually every veggie, there is a dwarf of bush form that can be grown in containers, although some of them require containers about the size of whiskey half-barrels. You also can grow herbs like rosemary, basil, dill, etc. and can put several herb plants in one container. Not many vegetables will produce as much per square foot of container space as tomatoes do, although bush winter squash, summer squash, potatoes and eggplants will give you a pretty good-sized harvest. I have to grow in containers(apartment dweller), but I was surprised that I got 6-8 Brandywines(Suduth)off of each of my two plants...nice big ripe ones, although we had a late summer here. I usually get fewer(but still tasty)from container BWs. Also my Black Krim took off late, producing about a dozen good ripe ones per plant before I had to pick the last few green. Those two were my best tasting types. Coming in third was Stupice, for flavor, but production was less than previous years. Also mentionable was Chocolate Cherry. Two plants put out more than the neighbor and I could eat, but the flavor was not as good(sweet)once the weather got cooler. These were all in rather small containers, from 3-6 gal pots. Hopefully, I'll acquire larger pots/totes/bins for next year.

Roselee, I have had good luck with better boy for a full size tomato. For whatever reason Celebrity has not produced well for me, but I am in a more humid environment in SE Texas. If you buy seed I grew Baxter Cherry Tomato last year in a pot and it grew well with alot of tomatoes and didn't get gangly. Black cherry tomato is an heirloom variety that had very good taste and even produced well but it grew very tall and was spreading, even in a six foot cage. Just remember that in the Texas heat they will need to be watered daily even in a 15 gallon pot.
