Anyone else's garden look very sad right now?

My pots do, too. Sigh.

The verbenas are ashy gray for the second year in a row. The rudbeckia has brown leaves and holes........The only thing in one of my pots that looks good is mondo grass (out of five plants total). My salvia and my ajuga are dying and I can't do a thing about it.

All that rain a couple of weeks ago helped my lawn but is rotting some of my other plants. It's rather discouraging. To top it off, the fruit has fallen off my satsuma. I have two left.

I need some recommendations for south of Houston partial sun, clay gumbo, doesn't necessarily mind poor drainage plants. It's on the side of the house, so I can't really amend much or make raised beds, as it will change the grade and cause pooling in my neighbor's yard when it rains.

Will Siberian iris tolerate these conditions? Anything else?
