Ain't that something - another nest

Those crazy Carolina Wrens have now made a nest in my father's burning barrel. I went to pull a piece of old lumber out of the barrel and a bird flew out. I looked in the barrel and there was a nest with six eggs in it. I noticed they looked just like the eggs the other Wren had laid. While I was looking at the nest I noticed that the mother or father was hanging around nearby. I backed away and a couple minutes later the bird went back into the nest. I carefully and quietly went for a closer look. That crazy bird let me get super close and get some good pictures. Thanks little birdie.

Anyway, does anyone have any idea as to how long it could take for the eggs to hatch? Then how long until the babies fly away? I want to make sure my father doesn't burn anything in that barrel.

Those wren seem to make nests just about anywhere. I'm not sure what to make of that. Doesn't seem too smart to me.
