Five more Blues

My Bluebird babies fledged yesterday. It was so fascinating to watch Papa Blue attack any bird that was within a hundred feet of the nest. He was attacking birds that were nowhere near the nest or his young. I've never seen one do that. He was very protective. All five young fledged and are now being cared for in the trees, with Momma and Pappa Blue coming to the mealworm feeder for assistance. It is pouring rain today, and it supposed to be lousy weather for the rest of the week, so I'm glad I have plenty of mealworms on hand to help out.

Great news! I am just happy my six nestlings are still alive. It has been soooo cold here since they hatched a week ago but finally yesterday it warmed up. The adults were finding no bugs, I know because of how many mealworms/waxworms they were going through this past week. Mine should be fledlging next week if all goes well!

How exciting! I ordered five new roses (around Christmas) but it will be too cold to pick them up, until May. Do hybrid musks grow well, for you? I've always wanted to try Ghislaine de Feligonde (1916) but our area might be too cold. It's such a pretty rose and can be a climber, in warmer areas. Oh, so beautiful Ron! I woke up super early before church and had time to go briefly online to see your roses exclusively to start off my day, lol! What an inspiration and when I saw your Touch of Class I thought it was the same sport hybrid of MY BELOVED GEMINI that I was looking at until I saw the label. Ron, I don't know how you do it, but whenever I see a new rose of yours I always end up saying - now that's the best Jema I've seen, now that's the best Touch of Class, and I go back and forth amongst your roses like a ping-pong ball goin' berserk over such florist quality beauties lol!

I was in happy total shock when the Berlin wall came down. I was as happy as the people who lived there. I didn't think that would happen in my life time. A war is probably the only thing that will stop the separation in Korea.

Six nestlings Donna. Wow that's really cool. They are lucky to have you to supplement their young. What I found surprising is that in past years when the weather was very cold during brooding they ended up with blow fly larva in the nest. This year the weather was warm and sunny (up until fledge day) and there was no sign whatsoever of a single blowfly larva when I removed the old nest.
