We have baby Dees!!!!

Thanks so much Janie May and Lisa for your response to my post about the incubation time for the Dees. These three hatched on day 15 from the second to last egg being laid. I knew if I posted that question they would be hatching shortly after that. LOL! Mom and Dad sat quietly right next to me while I looked and took a quick pic then they resumed their feeding. I cannot believe how tiny these little hatchlings are!! Baby blues look ginormous compared to these. Hopefully the other two hatch tomorrow. I will check on that and then probably leave them be for a bit until my next check. I haven't been checking much as long as I saw them around until it was close to hatching day. They really don't seem to mind my checking, hardly make any noise when I do just sit close by and watch and as soon as I am done they go right in the nestbox. Check out these little cuties.....

Yippieeee! They are tiny! I have baby Tres as of yesterday, Mom wont move for me to get a good pic but thats ok I wont bother her, she's a very good Mom. Took the wren guard off the Blues box yesterday and the poor babies didnt like the light, took them about 20 minutes to adjust...blink blink.
Congrats on your babies i knew they would hatch!

Congratulations Donna! It is very hard to believe they can even hold their heads up isn't it? So naked compared to Blues too. It is not uncommon to have an egg or two not hatch with Dees. Mine are about ready to fledge if the Blues will leave them alone. They have been harassing them relentlessly for two days. They can't get in the box but will not leave them alone. I wish they'd just take care of their own babies. They fledged a week ago. Oh well

Mac, my family and friends all thought I was crazy. I told them the blues would come when I called them and they are like....wow, she is nuts. UNTIL, they saw with their own eyes!! They do come when I call them. I love the bluebirds and I love seeing pictures of others blues and babies. It is nice to have a place where you can share great blue moments. Congratulations again. Keep us posted and we want fledgling pictures :) Karen

Judy Good, we had one of those surprises years ago. Brother and his wife were due, she went into labor at home and delivered a beautiful little girl. A few minutes later she had to push and out came another little girl. Identical twin girls. My sister in law hadn't had a ultra sound. It was her third and she didn't feel the need.

What wonderful news and a great pic! My 3 baby dees fledged weeks ago and thank goodness, the parents are still bringing them to the feeders. When I cleaned out the box, there were two eggs that didn't hatch.

Hope all goes well with these cuties.

Wow! Congratulations to you ALL! :)

We have a nestbox full of 2nd nester baby blues here who are doing great and due to fledge next weekend. And baby Dees and TUTIs and Downeys and CAWR too... tho we don't know the locations of any of their nestings.

You gotta love this time of year,
