bird advice

I have a mulberry tree in my backyard but its spring and there are no birds around I'am thinking of hanging some birdfeeder from the branches then taking them down in summer when the the mullberrys are ready to eat would this be a good idea? I also thinking and hopeing to get some picture of the birds. I do have a few chipmonks runing around.they eat the mulberrys that fall off the tree which i really don't mind just as long as they leave my calla lily bulbs along.
