Yes, I think you are correct in that I'm usually very trusting of people. It's not my nature to look for the worst in people and I'd like to think that people will treat me the way that I treat them. However, in the past few years my husband has taught me a valuable lesson in what happens when you are too trusting. When I look back on some of the different situations that have happened I can't believe that it totally slip past me or how deceitful he is as a person. I trusted him to move money out of my checking account to pay monthly expenses until one day when I was trying to make a purchase and the clerk informed me that my debit card was declined. My first thought was my account must have been hacked. On my way home to figure out what had happened I remember how during the past few weeks he kept reminding me that I was spending a lot of money. I only spent what I knew that I could afford to spend and never more than what I was making. His statements should have been a clue. When I went online to view my banking account I saw where he had transfer more than $30,000.00 out of my account over a period of year and half without consulting me. Hence the "you're spending a lot lately". I never really checked my account because I always knew that I had a pretty good cushion for what I wanted to spend. My spending was nothing more than a visit to Walmart every now and then and I knew with the amount of money that I make (retired Federal employee and now a government contractor making six figures) that I really never had to worry about my card being declined. When I confronted him about it the first thing he yelled was "I pay the house note out of my check'! There was about an ounce of truth to his statement with the exception that the money was first transferred from my account to his account and then of course he paid the house note but using my money. What a snake in the dirt! At that point I really just wanted to know what was going on with him so I was willing to sit down and discuss the situation with him but he got angry and slapped me across my face. He told me that I had repeated to him that I didn't really need to know what was going on with the budget just as long as everything was paid and on time. That was his excuse for not telling me that he was taking money out of my account. Well needless to say when he put his hands on me I used his cane and beat the crap out of him. No one, and I mean no one is allowed to touch me in that way and every since that night we have not shared a bed. I knew then that the marriage was pretty much over for me. That happened last March and I'm still trying to figure out how to get out. It can't be that difficult because people do it all the time. I think I need a some sort of life coach to help me to navigate all of the changes that I'll need to make. The other thing that I noticed is that he no longer takes his mom and sister out to dinner and movies anymore and he's not offering to guy rounds when he visits a bar. REALLY?? When I look back at the time that I've spent with him and various situations that are questionable I realize how he's been lying to me all these years. I've had people question me about his comments and how they say he bashes me behind my back. Oh well, I'm sure you're probably bore and have heard enough of me. Thanks for your time. @Caroline - You are a blast at parties and particular ray of sunshine that lights up any room you walk into eh? Personally, I don't care what you do/do not consider a "high end look". A seamless integrated look? Not everyone either a) has 10-20k for a panel ready fridge, b) would spend that much on said appliance c) needs such an appliance. d) asked for any opinions or feedback on what I was able to do while MINIMIZING costs. I'm so very sorry us southern boys do quite a bit more with our hands and what's between our ears than that of our northern brethren that would rather do with their wallet. They have a 1/2 reveal. . .throughout the kitchen.. . .this is the overlay/design that we wanted AND chose? "The microwave cabinet with the hinged door came out great" - Thanks. My idea. That full size microwave costs me a whopping $200 and it heats up whatever is placed inside of it just the same of its more expensive kinfolk. "I do not like that the fridge doesn't have the proper clearance (and do not get me started on Samsung anything) and you had to make larger refrigerator panels that don't line up with the cabinet above" - Hey Carol. . .It's by design. . .and intentional. Hear me out. This fridge/freezer is a . . .wait for it. . .side by side. . .I'm pretty sure I said that previously, but I digress. The reason this is important to make sure you understand is two fold. The fridge side is WIDER than the FREEZER side. With my discount, this fridge set me back a whopping $1200 delivered, new. Am I a fan of Samsung appliances, no. Is this what my wife "wanted" yes. Do I care, well actually yes. Here's why. The side by side was the requirement because the water/ice is completely separate between the sides. We wanted the pitcher and dispenser for water that this offers in the fridge side, and were perfectly content with MANUALLY using a scooper to fetch ice from the freezer side as needed. You see, my wife's design was about being minimalist. All of that to say this, yes they are different size doors than the cabinet above. Do you know what's placed in the cabinet above at present? Nothing. Do you know why? Because I designed the entire layout with storage in mind. Again, us southerners have a little saying, it's better to have it and not need it, than to not have it and need it. "I particularly do not like the dishwasher panel and the gaps on either side." - This isn't shocking. It is however by design. Notice the reveals on all of the other faces in the island? Yeah, it's the same. See that larger panel in the bottom and how it gets narrower just a tiny bit? Yeah, my idea as well. You see this amazingly quiet and effecient LG dishwasher we chose has hinges with a hinge point 7.5" from the very bottom. What's this mean exactly? We'll Virginia, it means that around 5" of that panel actually goes underneath it. This is to allow that function to happen. Our house was featured by Architectural designs. I was actually really looking forward to sharing so much with this community on things you can DIY and save so much money, but your little ray of sunshine self along with some of your cronies completely drained me of any desire to share anything with people as rude and ugly as you. The entire point of this post HAD zero to do with wanting feedback, your approval, your validation, or even your snarky northern non-sense you seem to spew most places you comment/reply on. The purpose was to introduce my wife and I. Share with this awesome community how simple and easy it is to do things yourself, or at least while spending less to achieve a more expensive and classy look. While the floorplans with furniture are cute, I think you will get responses if you just have a floorplan with walls and fixtures.

@Patricia Colwell thanks for your feedback. I'm also so sorry for your loss as well. I'm not looking for change for the sake of change. I'm actually someone who fears change. And it's why I can and have always been indecisive over the smallest decisions. It drove my husband nuts and he'd just make the decision for me when I took too long to decide on things. I have been wanting to upgrade the paint in our home for some time now. Thewhole house have been in BM Revere Pewter since 2010. I'm over the gray and dull feeling when I look at the walls. I want something lighter and airy. And at night a bit softer and warmer. I will add more sources of light in the main space. For the kitchen I hear your points on the chat gpt. I'm just a visual person and I would like to visually see what the space could look like before I paint and before I make any adjustments or changes. I've never liked the brown quartz countertop but I can keep it and reduce the amount of things on the counter and window sill. My husband and I did have plans to add a slim pantry for additional items that we have not as wide as the one in chatgpt. I will be changing the colour of the banquette seating because I don't like the height of it anymore, the tufting or the colour. I'll give some more thought to the island.
