Thank you so much for your encouragement, Karen & Niecey. It eases my mind. Would you mind sharing how you winter protect? I only piled up mounds of wood mulch, which protected the crowns. However, I'm not sure it helped poor Golden Princess. She is completely black and I see no signs of green even when I dig into the ground for a peek. But I'm going to leave her alone and see what she does. Niecey, it was 65 Saturday; I had pruners in my hand, and well....long-range forecast here for the next 8 days calls for temps in the 60s with lots of rain. I have about 75 roses coming in the next two weeks, so it was now or never. Plus the kitchen demo starts April 25, and I'm going to be busy in the next week or so picking out countertops, etc. The darn rabbits pruned Pearlie Mae, Distant Drums, and Mountain Music to nubbins, but at least they are green. The other Bucks are in a huge octogon raised bed, and rabbits haven't learned to climb steps yet, so they couldn't get to them. -terry

Chris You have some quite different plants. I particularly love that tall blue one..How tall is that and how long have you had it?..Beautiful..I am glad your cuttings rooted..They should grow much more very soon..The mother jade is not in the pictures...It is at my job in full sun huge windows growing like crazy though.. Josh. Thank you for posting yours too..Do your plants like Calif or what? Do they like you? For sure...I love how you have managed to keep the leaves of your jades clean and spot free..You know, those unsitely rot, or fungus spots that make you have to pinch the leaves off..I think keeping your leaves dry in the cold weather helps..Thanks for the tip..They always look like little people.. Socks, how in the world did I miss yours? I think I was at work and couldn't see them then..I think I see Micky Mouse..lol..I only WISH they sold a saguaro cactus here...Weird to think that these thing live longer than us just to grow an arm..I also have that blue cactus..I haven't noticed much growth yet.. Nice looking plants might I add. Very nice. Reckamp's do excellent up here. I was mostly looking at spiders and unusual forms this year. I really stocked up on bagels last year so I needed some accent plants. You don't have to worry about calling and complaining. Go ahead if you want. I can assure you that one complaint will certainly *not* result in the loss of a contract to the company! Actually more people *should* call, both when service is unusually bad or unusually good. I received a follow up call after delivery. Deliveries are tough. I've done them before. Some go great, some are nightmares. I have a lot of respect for people who do on-site anything. I bought a stove and refrigerator from Home Depot last year and part of the reason I bought there was the free delivery and pickup/disposal of the old appliances. I couldn't be happier with the service I received. They almost called too often! The two guys were unusually careful. They pulled them out of the boxes on the driveway, checked it over top to bottom for scratches, dents or damage and were unusually careful about cleaning up every scrap and checking for anything that may have been left on the driveway! I was surprised. I got a call that told me where in the queue I was and an estimated time something like between 9 & 10 am. Then I got a call from the delivery guys two or three times. They called before the one right before me and when they finished and would be on the way, giving time estimates on each. I have some extra blocks on the back steps to make for shorter height steps to be easier for me to go in and out. I said it was easy enough to move them but no, they said that wasn't necessary and went right up them and they were twisting themselves to be sure not to damage the door jamb or anything. Amazing. I gave them each a $10 tip and a big thank you. They were surprised and very appreciative. I imagine not too many people tip delivery guys. I kind of felt cheap about it afterward. But the time frame vs the amount was a pretty good income anyway. I also realize that the odds of getting them for another delivery are slim to none and it might be a total nightmare next time. But when they take that kind of care on cheap appliances (about $900 for both OTD) they obviously have a great work ethic.
