Adult TRES dead in house

Hi all,

The TRES arrived in town a couple of weeks ago and I have seen one (or more) in a couple of my houses several times. Today I went to check on the houses and found all four unoccupied. Three had little bits of grass, but not a lot. One of those three had a dead male TRES. I cannot see any marks on him. I have had HOSP in the past, but have not seen any this spring.

So, any ideas what killed him? I read on another thread that sometimes the adults don't survive migration? Especially if the weather turns cold? It's been down around freezing every night the past week.

I'm also not sure why none of the other houses have been claimed. Usually at least three end up with TRES or BLUE nests.

Thanks for the help!
