MommaBlue laid 2 eggs!

Finally after 2 weeks of morning our 1st set of BB babies, we have a new nest of two eggs!

We have been in a war between hosp and us! Between the trap and the bb gun we have eliminated almost 3 dozen hosp. We also stopped feeding seed of any kind except for the bait box with bread in it and finch thistle in socks for finches. I also add a piece of fresh bread inside the trap to tempt them coming in. For the most part, I keep a female in to tempt the males!

At first we caught 3 cowbirds and 1 male Cardinal which I quickly removed from the trap! What a thrill to hold them and let them fly away!

Our yard is nice now.. except for nesting tree swallows, baltimore Orioles, orchard Orioles, finches and humingbirds

with a few robins and redwing blackbirds.. we finally have peace in the back yard.

We have our fingers crossed to see our eggs hatch into a sucessful flock of babies!I am more than worried now that I know how the last nest ended.
