Jan is a friend of mine. I've been to her house and there are no tied up birds, bats or anything else. SHe was speaking an incident that happened 30 plus yeas ago in Korea. No, GatorMomx2, English is not her native language. She came here as an adult and now is fluent in both Korean and English. She speaks with practically no accent. As an ESOL teacher, you should appreciate how hard she had to work to learn a language that is completely different from her native language. She is called on by her pastor numerous times to translate business transactions for fellow Koreans who are not as facile at English. I am amazed and disappointed at the attacks on our Hoya Queen. I would have thought it hard to improve upon You LooK Marvelous, but Willow Dean Smith clearly is/has. Beautiful. Wonder of It All has annoyed me for the last year. The best day it had this year was with some 8 blooms open, but only 2 opened correctly. Perhaps if it bloomed later (for me), it could enjoy some of this scorching heat we're having and have spectacular days. But no. I will just have to enjoy yours and others' pictures. Which I will (smile). Lovely photos, as always.

Thanks for looking everyone! Bananatree94, Thanks for the IDs. You were definitely right on all those bird ID's and possibly the orchid ID too (I'm not sure since I dont know much about orchids!). Apparently Disney does protect their orchids, so they might have been given extra protection, but they were at least 25 feet above the ground, so I dont see how protection would be a very easy thing to accomplish! Someone ID'ed the Jubaea x Butia as a Syaragus x Butia, so it probably is just a very Butia looking Mule palm. Either way, its nice to see some palm hybrids on the property! Lzrddr, I think you might be right about that White Elephant Palm being potted. It does look like there is enough bare room underneath it for it to fit a pot. I did here that White Elephant Palms are somewhat frost tolerant and since the palm in this pic was in deep shade, its possible that it has not seen much of a frost even after last winters low temperature of 28F. Usually Orlando winters are above freezing, but they have not been so lucky with the past 2! Im sure that the Red Sealing Wax palm has to be potted up because even with heat, I dont see how they could survive last years Brutal winter. They can barely handle temperatures in the 40s! Jim, the plants definitely were one of my favorite about Disney! I was happy to see someone else taking pictures of plants so I didn't feel too alone, but plant lovers were definitely the minority! And I could definitely see why you thought the monkey's escaped, lol, the wire definitely looks like a telephone wire! -Alex

Well my friends, you sure don't make the decisions easier, what with all the differing opinions. But I feel a lot better about being all over the place myself! I never really thought of gray. It is a different form of surrender to the tiles. I think it is a great idea! The Gray Owl, suggested first by OSH, has a lot of green in it and isn't far from the "pale green" I had in mind. But I think I may lean even further toward gray and go a bit deeper with Gray Horse. I saw a terra cotta bath rug in the Frontgate catalog last week and thought it was really pretty. Figures they don't have all the towels to coordinate. And Garnet Hill has terra cotta but the natural towels I'd need to coordinate are back ordered until May. (Please tell me my house will be under contract by then!!!) So, I think I will look for terra cotta rug and towels locally, probably go with an off-white waffle weave shower curtain, and then settle on a medium gray. Maybe I'll put in a few touches of a deep steely blue as well. I am hopeful again!! Thank you!!! As for the chipped door, crappy wire gizmo, cheezy products, etc....yes, that will all be rectified. I will stage and accessorize with useless but beautiful things to entice the lookers. ;-) I'm finishing up DD's bathroom this weekend and will move on to the guest bath on Monday.
