They were great. I also watched serveral. But during the Vines I got stuck on that page and could not get off. I closed out, I logged off, I restarted and turned the computer off and back on. Mozilla kept opening to that same page. I finally clicked something near the toolbar, and got myself unentangled. That had never happened before.

Hi Claire and Jud, Yeah, you both are right about the redpolls being around a lot- been having a flock of about 20 come by frequently everyday. I have to give an update now because I've uploaded some videos on youtube since the last time I posted here. Can you believe I'm having problems once again now with this Sony camera. Like the other two cameras, the focus has issues, it wants to work when it wants to. Here is a recent video i did on the redpolls and you wil see what I'm talking about (otherwise it's a good camera)- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Klb44uKe6Z0 Here is two redpolls that stay together all the time, away from the flock, I named them 'Sue and 'Lou'. They are a funny pair- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0UelrTOoY0U Here is the red breasted nuthatch, I named him 'Zippy" ê - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVYPQ5FpBDw Remember I mentioned about the flock of dark birds with the long beak coming around a whole bunch? Well, I found out they are European Starlings. I have one in particular that comes by many times a day and talks- I named it 'Centra'- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-j6gXSQ9FM I still see the ones with the black top and black going down the chest, just haven't caught a clear photo on camera yet. I ended up naming the raven too- I named him 'Rav'. He comes by too and talks a lot. He is one cool raven and funny too- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cyyaWHIN_lM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2R7k7tjle0. I'll be posting a short video of Crooked Beak, Squeaker and baby soon. Ed

Here on the east coast, the air stays pretty humid enough so that I don't seem to need to make little "greenhouses" for cuttings -- just keep them out of midday sun, and keep the soil moist. My first round of cuttings are starting to put out new growth, and I think I'll have far more of 'Rose du Roi -- original' than I expected. I took a lot, thinking it'd be harder to root than others I've tried, but so far none are showing signs of rotting before rooting. But in any case, that video is very informative. In different conditions and with different types of roses, we all have to try a few ways before we hit on what works for us. :-) ~Christopher

Due to their wonderful, informative and fun videos (though sometimes the added music is too loud), I decided to just now place a big order (of small size plants) with Rainforest Flora (in California). It will probably be my last order of the year as I begin to expect cool nights in September. Interestingly, Rainforest Flora happens to ship a lot to Singapore. They also grow most of their stock from their own plants (offsets and seeds) rather than depleting wild stocks, and they hybridize a lot of their plants (just to see what happens, though it can take years to find out). They named on new plant "Singapore Sling" after all the fans in that country. So my guess is they will ship out of the USA, and may be able to help overcome mailing hurdles. Even if you don't order anything (like that marvelous $72 book written by the owner of the +40 year old company), the site itself is well worth visiting to learn more about Tillandias Also, in Florida, http://www.tropiflora.com/ and in Kentucky, http://plantoddities.com/ -- these sales websites have a lot of info as well (pictures, plant descriptions, etc., though no videos -- yet!)
