If you get a chance to visit the Roses of Legend and Romance garden in Wooster (an Ohio state facility), you will see many fabulous roses that are definitely hardy. Some are Canadian Explorer roses, and many others are old roses. Well worth a trip. They offered quite a few roses for sale last year at their first ever open garden event in early June, and I'm hopeful they'll do it again next year. I'm from California, but was in Ohio visiting family, so went to the event and drooled over the roses but knew I couldn't legally take them home. You would have no such restrictions! Anita

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE! This year we had 112 people sign in and...well... way to many plants to count! :-) Also a GIANT thank you for helping us go green. We really appreciate it. We saw many "newbies" and many "old" friends a combination that made a highly successful swap with less then 10, yes 10 left over plants! We sincerely hope all of you had as good of time as we did. If there are any suggestions for improvements or constructive criticism please let us know either by PM or here. Thank you again to Beverly Nelson Comer and Mimi Ninde the two ladies who started it all and then graciously passed the "shovel" to us.

What a great day for the Plant Swap. Thanks to everyone that attended today who helped make it a wonderful day. Great plants, folks, food, and friends. So fun to meet new folks who attended this year for the first time. A special thanks to folks that were so helpful. It's been terrific to be part of this event the past eleven years. I appreiciate all of you. I love to look at my gardens and see plant swap plants growing away, some for many years. I know I have some some terrific friends via this event, too. A special thanks to Mimi - my wonderful back door gardening friend. I know the Plant Swap will carry on! Thanks to Mouse and Kim (and friends) for stepping forward to host the swap in the future. My biggest thanks goes to my very, very special Murray. Good gardening!

yeah! more fun! more food! more plants! best of all seeing all of the green friends again! I am thanking heaven I am making my garden paths narrower this summer. (the better to squeeze a few more plants in... does this mean I am an addict now? I can just see the 12 step program... 1.take your hands off the shovel.2. take your hands off the watering can.3.take your eyes off the seed catalog.4.stop letting your car drive you to the nursery.5.confess you have a problem. 6.try not to make too many cuttings from your houseplants unless someone wants them.7 make sure you have enough money to buy your own veggies (if not growing one or two wont hurt).8.your lawn looks bad - better water it.. if a few drops land on the garden then that is just bad luck. we all have that. 9.it is a proven fact that flowers make people feel better. growing a couple of daisys is improving your neighbors lives. 10. the daisys worked you got a couple of smiles better put in some daylilies. 11. they stoped blooming better fill in the bare patches with some varigated foliage plants for better colour. 12. take a deep breath and your cured! lol
