We have our first egg here in Central WI....

We were gone on the weekend and when I checked the box Sunday afternoon I saw the nest was completed and she wasn't carrying anything in there anymore. Been checking daily and yesterday I didn't think she laid an egg cause I saw her so much, she was never gone long enough to lay an egg or so I thought. I checked last evening since I was walking by the box and low and behold there was an egg! This is the earliest ever, in 2007 I had an egg on April 26th (still only two nestings that year though). This is the same female as last year and the year before (I know because of her coloring and how she knows what the mealworm feeder is), last year her first egg of the first nesting was on May 24th and the year before her first egg of her first nesting wasn't until June 1st. Both years she had two nestings so it is possible for her to have three nestings this year "if" all goes well and we don't have any problems. I will be happy with two though but never had three before.
