Bluebirds and blossoms

Spring has sprung and the flowering trees are in full bloom, often hiding the birds that perch in them. Here are a few shots where you can see them a little. These first few are in the Bradford Pear.

Not sure what the name of this next tree is. A weeping ornimental tree of some sort. The mockingbirds nested in it last summer; their nest was just about where Mama is sitting.

Papa is pretty busy trying to chase the other bluebirds away, but they keep coming back for mealworms, especially in the morning. Here Papa is on the lookout.

There are two eggs in the nest as of Friday. I put the spooker up as soon as the first egg was laid. As you can see, Mama tried to pull the strips off but after a bit she adjusted to them.

Enjoy! Dave
