It could just be from the stress of all the transplanting. Next best guess is over-watering. More plants are killed by too much water than anything else. ;) Neither the perlite or a "little" timed release fertilizer should hurt them. Give them a few days to see if they recover. Meanwhile lay off any additional feeding and go very easy on the water until they get re-established. Hope this helps. Dave

I think the idea the OP is getting at is will the WnF be a problem for new grass six months later. The answer to that is no. However, as has been mentioned, seeding this late in the fall is not a good practice and neither is using weed n feed. You will likely be disappointed with both. Weed n feed has several problems with it. It's hard to use properly and the results are not usually what you were expecting. Spot spraying individual weeds is a much better way to do that. If you have thin spots or if you are starting new, you're going to want to seed in the spring. Spring is not a good time to seed new grass, but if you have to you have to. One problem with that is you usually get a dose of crabgrass at the time time. If you do, you won't have to live with crabgrass permanently. It can be eradicated, but you will not have a gorgeous lawn for summer 2015. However, with some planning for next August, you can have a beautiful lawn for 2016.

Good morning, Boncrow. That suggestion has mainly been for immature plants, and those in pots in extreme situations, but it can work for any plant, in any situation. Just as it is generally more beneficial for you to eat smaller meals, more frequently, providing a lower-dose, more constant source of nutrients for plants can encourage a heightened level of steady growth. But, it takes more time and effort from you than simply either applying the monthly dose every month; watering with the amount required every two weeks with a water soluble or applying the recommended dose of organics at the rate and frequency you prefer. For special things; for small, immature plants or very weak growers I want to push steadily, I maintain higher water levels (keeping drainage in mind with the selection of potting soil) and provide half strength food, twice as often. For solubles, instead of a tablespoon per gallon of water every two weeks, perhaps a teaspoon per gallon weekly. For immature plants or slower growers you want to light a fire under, it works very well, but it's likely a lot more time and effort for an entire garden than many of us would wish to spend. Though, you might waste a bit less of inorganic fertilizers going weakly, weekly as the soluble nitrogen might actually get used before being flushed away with irrigation or rain. Hi rembetika and welcome! With respect to refilling - it all depends on your weather (temperature, humidity in particular) and where the feeder is hung (sun or shade). When it's cooler, the sugar/water can often be just fine for a number of days. But when it's hot and humid, this encourages bacteria to grow (often introduced by the birds themselves) and that can spoil the solution - even if it doesn't appear to be cloudy as yet. When it's cloudy, that's often after the bacteria colony has multiplied so much that they visibly cloud the solution with their numbers. I think putting it through the dishwasher might depend on whatever you use for detergent and whether it is actually rinsed well to get any residue out - particularly since some of the smaller glass ones have a pinched neck and may not get rinsed as well as say a drinking glass. With respect to the sugar - plain white granualated table (cane) sugar is fine. Other types such as turbinado or lesser processed cane sugar with molasses isn't recommended. The "hummingbird sugar" sold commercially is often sold with a dye (FD&C Red 40), where the long-term effects of that on this bird is unknown and thus it's not recommended. Plus the commercial products like that end up costing more than plain cane sugar anyway, so might as well go with something very simple.
