Looking great, I hope to take some pics this weekend. It looks like I may finally be able to leave everything out for the summer. Mid 70s by Saturday but still cool now. It was 39 this morning when I woke up.

jkom51-- To tell you the truth, If I were interested, I could very easily put together a crew of about 10 people (5 teams) and keep them busy full time with all the work I've been offered all over the country, just from this forum. Some of it has been truly tempting, too, starting with igloochik's home in Alaska, as well as the one she's starting work on in the PNW. Even pcjs's post is tempting! There are several problems, there, though. First, alot of my credibility in the forums comes from the fact that I'm not asking for anything in return for the information I give out here. There are no ulterior motives. I'm here because I want to help people. Secondly, I would most likely run into problems from iVillage, being that then I'd be here for profit. Lastly, and this one would be important to all of you, and that's the fact that in addition to the normal costs of doing the work, there would also be travel expenses, as well as lodging and per diem costs, making it really kind of impractical for me to go around doing the work. Unfortunately. I say unfortunately because right now, the housing market has made work just as scarce here as it is in many other parts of the country, and I'm doing commercial work now, just to stay busy. It IS custom work to be sure (period specific work for the Maine Historical Society in Portland), but none the less commercial work, and I'm not very happy about it. But you do what you have to do. :-)

Thanks remodelfla: we're already reaping the benefits of small changes in usability -- we cut down the threshold on the back door so it's barely above the floor -- much easier to roll things in and out of the house. The washer and dryer are on platform now -- so much nicer to use. And once you try to go through a door with your hands full you really understand why lever handles are ADA approved. The thing we love the most so far is the Toto Washlet (we got the S400 at half price (the one with the auto flush and auto open/close). Wow is that sweet. The male in the household wasn't convinced it was worth it and is now a convert. I even saw him leave the non-washlet bathroom once and finish up in the washlet bathroom when it became free. If that's not an endorsement, I don't know what is. Dianalo: We're not completely sure the dark color will be a perfect match for all the different surfaces (it's BM affinity dragonfly), but it's just paint. Almost all of it will be covered up with cabinetry and hood and we have excellent overhead lighting plus we'll have undercabinet lights so lighting should be great. The floor to ceiling integrated fridge cabinet goes where the transition between the dark kitchen color is and the creamy living area (that has less lighting). We did have one weird paint issue. We used BM Deep in Thought in the living/family room and hall areas and it appears as we expected. Then we put in the bathroom and it became a strong light green at night. Same overhead lights. We'll be repainting the bath.

Great result, yes, patience is a virtue! Gill
