You should have firefox on ubuntu if not you can easily get it and pretty much anything you need from the repositories. With the easy list on it should remove those green ones too. also there are some extensions that can sneak on that allow those green line ads, one is Play Brite another is game play labs, go up top to Tools then add ons and in the list there and in the plug ins look for that and delete it if you have it also look for any other ones that you did not add. Another option to add to your firefox is a helper for your adblock plus go ahead and add this one also, remember to restart firefox after you do that. I try to ignore mice in the field, but not in the yard, garden, house or any outbuildings. Our cats control them pretty well most of the time, for which I'm grateful. Bruce, I agree that the risk of using poison makes me antsy. Our younger cats are good mousers. Our older ones aren't. I guess maybe the older cats consider themselves semi-retired or something. And, I'd rather deal with mice or even rats than with squirrels. Dawn

chisue, we had something similar happen, but it was dog kibble in one of the walls of the garage. There was probably enough to fill a 50 pound bag in there! When we had dogs, we kept a couple of days worth of kibble under the sink so we wouldn't have to run downstairs to get dog food every time we fed them. That summer we had a mouse who was eventually caught and removed from the house. That winter, hubby went to put on his heavy winter robe for the first time of the season and put his hands in the pockets only to quickly take them right back out again. Both pockets of his robe were filled with dog food. I guess the mouse was going to take up residence in hubby's robe! Our current house doesn't have a basement; actually basements in California are rare because of the high water table in most areas. Not sure why, but we rarely see mice. When we had dogs, they used to catch them. Now we have a family of coyotes nearby as well as several owls and I think they take care of the mice.
