update: christmas stocking swap # three

Each player sends me

~ A stocking - at least 12" long I want to be able to

stuff them, you can make them or buy them

(make it one you would be happy to receive!)

~ seeds to swap ~ you will get back the same amount

(or more) that you send, no more than

2 packs of each on mixed seeds(unknown

variety, ie zinnias mix) and 3 on

named cultivars(zinnias:canary yellow)

It's helpful if you GW name & year is on the seed packet

~small gifts ~to be sorted among the players stockings,

try to stay away from the very fragile it

takes up alot of room in someones stocking

to use bubble wrap. Also remember jar

candles are very heavy, but votives are

nice. Hand made/store bought ornaments, pens, note pads, small calenders,seed baggies,plant markers,CANDY....you get the idea!!

Just try to keep everything a size that

will fit in a stocking. Don't feel you need to

stuff a huge box just, some(SMALL) nice gifts to

share.

Please DO NOT send any plants!! Bulbs for indoor winter blooming would be GREAT ie.. paper whites or amaryllis.

~Please send no less than 9$,IF you want delivery confirmation please let me know and send extra $ for it!

~ All boxes need to be in the mail by Nov 21!I will sort seeds and pack all stocking. Hopefully getting them out before Thanksgiving!!They should arrive at YOUR home the 1st week of Dec. THIS DEPENDS ON WHEN THE LAST OF THE STOCKINGS ARRIVE!!!

Kim, There was a big package of seeds waiting for me when I got back into town today!!! I was out of town for a few days so I'm not sure what day it came, but WOW! I can hardly believe all of the wonderful seeds that I received. I've been looking through them and there are lot of things that I wanted and some that I didn't know that I wanted (but I want them now that I see them.) For example, I received Mexican Sage 'Limelight' for my blue and green garden. It has blue flowers with lime green calyxes. How cool is that!! So thank you everyone for sending in so many great seeds. I'm thrilled with what I got back! And a special thank you to our hostess. When I was putting together seeds to send in for this swap, I kept thinking how much work this swap would be to host. Honestly, Kim, I don't know how you did it. hello I'm soo happy that s many people have gotten their stockings and are happy with them. I looked up those that have nt gotten theirs yet threeshyacres - your is in Phil. being prossesed prob deliver today neonposey - your was checked in the King NC PO so it should also be delivered today astilbezilla - they tried to deliver on the 30th but did not leave it, if it is not picked up soon they will send it back to me and I can't afford to ship it again. I just love the gifts I kept, rainbow hummingbird spinner, doggie stocking(Timmy insisted, he loves animals), grow your own christmas tree kit,some nice smalling candles and so on. I also got some great seeds from all those sent in, I think I sent almost everyone at least one packet of milkweed, please find a place to plant some, to keep it from spreading just deadhead. it is so wonderfull to watch the little caterpillars munch away and grow, timmy and I raised and relesed over 50 monarchs this year and 40 blackswallow tails, and a hand full of of other butterflies. it is very gratifing to help the little "fairies" I enjoy watching so much. sorry got a little caried away ther. have a very merry christmas everyone michelle

Maryanne, Im guilty as charged; I scanned over the posts but did not see where you had posted. Wow, we are a gabby bunch of ladies; I cant believe how fast the posts add up, and I am so glad you liked the labels. I love mine, because I put the name of the plant on both sides and if one side fades I can just pop it out and see what the name of the plant is. You might say I over kill when I tag plants, after losing so many tags over the years, I now bury a small tag with the plant also. The worse thing I have to do is dig it up to see what it is. Hey, I just want you to know I did have a box of candy, for both you and Janell but forgot to put it in. Hubby says it tasted good! LOL Ive been reading over the posts now that I have some time on my hands. Im off till Christmas night. YIPPIIIIIIII! Laura, a blooming friends friendship bracelet is a great idea! I cant get over how funny this group is. Can you imagine all of us in one place at one time? Oh my goodness girl, are you crazy? I was only the hostess, not your swap partner. WHAT A BOX!!!!!!!!!!!! Boy oh boy, did you jam pack this box and spoil me rotten! I received gold candy coins; an assortment of cocoa mixes; jelly belly Christmas mix; chocolate nut fudge; some mini candy canes and a Christmas pencil. There was also a package of pet greens - wheat seed and a dearly depotted (for the serial plant killer), this is too cool, I have never seen anything like this at all. Okay, this should have been enough, but theres more. A wall calendar; a set of Christmas tile coasters in a holder (these are excellent); a snowman candle and the cutest little bear that counts off the days until Christmas (there are 370 days until Christmas -- ARE YOU READY LOL); and the neatest candy stirrers another something I have never seen before; a magnetic santa notepad; two heresy chocolate bars and a set of candy cane lip gloss (which will feed my chapstick addiction). A wonderful keychain with a beautiful biblical verse on the reverse; a little mini game called "lot to love" (and its NOT a weight thang!); a charm bracelet; an issue of birds and blooms magazine; and the most magnificient smelling mason jar candle in the honeysuckle scent. I love it, its burning now - its smell is just so excellent. Im sitting upstairs and its lit sitting on the dining room table and the scent is just permeating the house. Honeysuckle takes me back to my youth and when I opened the jar, I had some fond, fond memories! I also appreciate the mini swiss army type knife that can go on a keychain. I had something very similar to this that broke off maybe not even a month ago and Im lost without it. This is GREAT!!!!! Wow Susann, you outdid yourself. The rules were "a little token to the host". You really put that over the top. This certainly qualifies as a swap box. I must say each and every one of my bloomin friends has been so kind, generous and giving to me as hostess. I feel so blessed and thank God for each of you. I enjoy our conversations and friendships, whether it is online, through mail or by telephone; and I certainly enjoy getting to know each and everyone of you a little more each and every day. You are all very special ladies, with such loving personalities and traits that rank very high in my book, with hearts of gold and green thumbs. It has certainly been my pleasure hosting this months swap but more so for the love, support and friendship you bring to this group. Ive been spoiled rotten by all the wonderful hostess goodies that I have already enjoyed or will enjoy soon or will treasure for a long time to come. Good morning all,

Hope everyone had a great 4 day weekend!! It was a little crazy here. I did NOT get to mail on Friday!! I know BAD hostess.. Anyway only 7 stockings went out today. The printer & I are not seeing eye to eye right now.It BETTER be in a great mood later....or I will replace it.(hoping the printer hears my thoughts that involves a freaking sledge hammer!!)The rest should fly out in the AM!! Yay....thanks so much, April, and fellow gardeners...I received my suprise box yesterday on a day that hubby and I agreed was horrid....so this gift was a huge mood booster! So many cute things....I think the kids stole all of my candy already! And the seeds were really great! I will definitely participate next year as well.

Want to know how to really enjoy the Christmas spirit? Listen to a bit of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra while fending off (then giving up) the cats while looking through your Christmas stocking! My roommate Joe and I opened up the box together after dinner tonight, and had an absolute blast eating candy, smelling candles, perusing through the seeds, and generally just having a ton of fun going through the whole thing!

WOW! My stocking came to day and man was that box packed! Thank you so much, everyone, and especially our wonderful hostess, April, for a fantastic job! My daughter couldn't wait to dig into the box and have at the candies! I loved the scrapbooking items and my daughter and I are going to make some gingerbread cookies tonight and use the mix and cookie cutters! There was a package of goodies for my dogs, too. Note pads and Christmas pencils (stolen by daughter) hot chocolate, and so much more! I couldn't believe there were so many seeds and a even a few bulbs, so I will definitely have to make a special bed for all of them. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

April, I received my stocking today. I was so tired when I got home from Christmas shopping, and there on the front porch was my wonderful box full of goodies. I couldn't wait to get inside and tear open the box. Wow, I couldn't believe all of the great stuff packed inside. I love it all. And thank you so much for putting together such a great swap.
