Can I post something?

Hi all,

I recently wrote a kind of journal entry on Autumn in my garden, and was wondering if anyone would be interested in reading it? I write pieces for pleasure only, and am in no way "qualified", but maybe when I'm older and retired I can write a coloumn in a magazine or something!

So let me know, and I'll post it.

You are "qualified" because you are writing about gardens or gardening. Post away, and keep writing!

CLFO is so encouraging, which is the right way to be. Myself, I first think "How long is it?" Post it and let's see what you have. I notice you didn't specifically ask for feedback.

...and I thought the BSTs were the worst! I don't mind the odor really because I recognize that it is a defense mechanism. Apparently doesn't work with wasps, however. I went out today and have many, many more eggs on the fennel! When will they stop? I need to check Rue in back yard because as I was posting on the forum, the female was out back flying around, so I imagine she deposited some eggs on the Rue. Susan

You can keep weeds out of your lawn with a good healthy properly cut lawn. The height of your lawn is the major factor. For the most part keep it tall unless your like me and have grasses similar to bermuda which needs to be cut low. Also you can apply corn gluten meal(CGM) as a pre-M for your lawn. It is high in N so you want to watch it unless agian you have bermuda which is a N hog. I went by the local Lesco Dealer to look at one of their sprayer rigs and asked if they had any organic materials. They baulked at me and said that organics was too expensive and to much work. Thats your retailer of synthetic lawn care. They aren't going to support anything that will keep them from making money. Good Luck,

That is weird! It is the same way for me... no place to post a reply! I agree with you Patti about not being happy if the phone rang at 6:30 am. My BIL sometimes calls for my DH very early.. then I'm awake for the rest of the day. I don't usually get up till 8:00 and I'm one of those people who don't function well if I don't get my sleep.

No I don't need feedback, I just thought everyone might enjoy a gardening piece from the 'other' hemisphere! I don't think it's too long. I'll post it anyway, thanks for the encouragement!

Dear Lauren ~

Looking forward to reading about your "Autumn" garden! It reminds me of the time our GWA colleague Sally Williams spent a year (or two?) in Australia. It was always so much fun to read about her horticultural adventures during the seasons opposite from ours.
