English Ivy Tentacle Removal
Comments (1)Is this painted wood then? If they won't come off with a softer brush and soapy water, you may have no choice but to scrape or brush with wire brush, then sand, followed by prime and repaint....See MoreEnglish Ivy Removal techniques?
Comments (2)Speaking as one who lives surrounded by English ivy - it is a major invasive problem in the PNW - if you severed the ivy on the house from its roots, it is dead........it just hasn't dried out yet. That takes time, usually several months with summer weather; longer if cooler and damp. But it won't make any difference if it is still green and somewhat succulent or fully dry and brown. Pulling it off the house will remove paint - ivy actually glues itself to the surface it attaches to and that remains firmly in place even when the plant is dead and the vines dry and brown. How English ivy attaches....See MoreRemoving Ivy From Tree Bark
Comments (8)As far as the tree's own leaves there is no problem in pulling them off. However there may be another problem. when you are pulling those vines from the tree make sure that the vines you are pulling is not Poison Ivy. Many times English Ivy, Virginia Creeper, and Poison Ivy grow together on the same tree. If there is Poison Ivy in the vines, you will scratch your head (and every thing else) wondering why you did what you did what you did. If you look at the picture in your post in the top right of the picture, there are several leaves that may be Poison ivy. (The pointed leaves,) It is difficult to tell, but should investigated before you go to far. If nothing else wear gloves and long sleeves....See MoreHow to remove old dry ivy from a pebble dashed wall?
Comments (6)I'm not at all familiar with pebble dash but just did some reading and it sounds like you have a problem. Best would have been try hardest to get it off while still green and before it had dried. One article suggest a low pressure steam cleaner, along with leaving and painting over a few bits of tendril - rather than aim for a complete removal that would have you removing many of the pebbles in the process. Are there any professionals within your area (and within your budget) you could call to help you with this?...See Moreeric_in_tn
