Arum Italicum????

Has anyone ever grown this???

I have the Sunset Book on Bulbs. According to that source, this one should be a real winner in Texas.

It's bold tropical type foliage emerges in the fall. It flowers in the spring and then goes dormant in the summer.

It is hardy to zone 6.

It is popular in the Carolinas, New Jersey, Tennessee and parts of California.

Scott Ogden's book on Texas' bulbs says that it should do well in Texas, but it doesn't sound like he has any experience or knows anyone in Texas that has grown it.

I can't find anything about growing this plant in Texas.

I put a post on the Aroid Forum, but they're a sleepy forum. (Arum is a member of the Aroid family, so are caladiums and elephant ears)

I wanted to interplant some with my cannas, so that I could have winter foliage.

Here is a link to a picture:

The price is reasonable. Brecks has the bulbs for a much lower price and they will ship in the fall.

Sounds almost too good to be true. Except, I can't find anything about growing this in Texas.
