I would like to trade for either a Kwanzan Flowering Cherry or Pink Flowering Dogwood The one that I would send would be about 4 feet tall, so I'd like for the tree I get from you to be reasonably tall and not just a seedling. I bought the Paper Birch tree several years ago as a 1-2 foot tall tree and have had it in a pot and kept it watered. It's hardy because it has sat outside a few winters now in the pot and has done fine. The birch is a host plant for some types of butterflies. The lilac is growing in the ground and I'd have to dig it out. If I knew I had a definite trade and you'd want the lilac, I could dig it out of the ground now and put it in a pot to transition it for shipping. The Tiger Swallowtails love these lilacs in the spring! I want to set the trade up now for shipping about a month from now since it's still too early here to plant trees. He must have been so young...his face still looks unlined and vibrant. Do you have a picture of that young flyboy? I'm always in awe when looking at WWII pictures...mostly youngsters. My Dad was in the Pacific but he was Regular Army and age early thirties. He's gone now so cherish this time with your Dad...and a big salute to him from me too. josh

Many people have these flowers in there garden in the fall or early spring many will be willing to share some bulbs.. otherwise store the seed at 40F (in refrigator vegi storage) for 120 days then lightly cover the seed soil temp for germination 55-60F & takes 30-90 days to germinate. takes 2-3 years to flower.
