Can I start seed now in North Texas?

I went out to buy tomato transplants this week, and the only varieties available were slicers. I'd love to have a cherry tomato and plum tomato. I can still buy seeds for these. I didn't check the days to fruit on the packs, but assume they will be between 65 and 85.

I used to start seed for spring tomatoes, but have never planted in summer, and haven't grown tomatoes at all for a couple of years.

In the past, I've still had some tomatoes for Thanksgiving, even longer if I was willing to coddle the plants.

Tonight I pulled out all of my old seed packs and started germination tests. I might even have some good seed here!
