need help with ID

I tried this on file hut but apparently didn't do it right, (thank you Tyrlych, for trying.) Hopefully I can get it right on yahoo.

These are probably all pretty common, they sure are prolific in my yard! but, being new to this gardening lark, I'm lost.

Any help would be appreciated. Since the first time I tried this, it's rained every day, and the weeds are flourishing!! So why do I have (bought) plants drowning all over the place?! Is this the "joy of gardening" I've heard so much about? (kidding - I'm not good at this, but it sure is fun to get to play in the dirt again!)

1 - just found this one, so I don't know much about what it does

2- this one gets little yellow flowers

4 - some sort of spurge maybe?

5 - this is also new to my yard

6 - the bane of my existence - the underside of each leaf part has seeds all along the stem and it is everywhere in my yard

8 - this gets pretty white flowers, grows into a huge mat, and has thick, white roots that go for miles it seems.

11 - again, some sort of spurge, or maybe the same one, this one growing in full sun, whereas 4 is in part shade.

My 'guesses' are numbered from 1 through 7, in order of their appearance in your slide show.

Wow lots of interesting stuff here! I think there are multiple issues here, and, since the health of the plants isn't great, I would deal with all possible problems rather than hunt down one specific one. If it were me I would do the following, since doing them would fix any of the most likely problems that you may be having. I would change the mix to a free draining one. I would check the roots, and pot into a container that is only a little larger than the rootball. I would put them in a partially sunny position after the repot until they get used to their new mix and pot. I would then move to a sunny location once things started to settle. I would make sure the room had plenty of humidity with gravel trays or a humidity. I would make sure the room was warm, and provide bottom heat to the pots if possible. I would inspect for bugs. Mites and scale seem the most prolific - possibly mites in your case. Webbing is a telltale sign, and sometimes hard to spot, but not always present. I would treat with Toni's spray regardless (she can tell you the ingredients, or you can search previous posts.) If you do spot bugs, use Toni's spray or a suitable one for fruiting plants from a garden centre. I would water these (after the repot) only when the new medium was closer to dry than damp. In a new medium you won't have to worry so much over watering - if it is the right medium it is unlikely you will overwater unless you go nuts with it. Fertilize only very lightly until the tree is back to health, then feed with a high nitrogen feed every couple of weeks. Citrus bounce back, but they take time. These are not by any means the be all and end all of things you should do, they are merely what I personally would do :) Danny

I'm a little curious to know how your plant #4 is doing, M_Medina, as my friend is having similar problems with his fuzzy plant (leaves getting yellow and falling)... What did you repot your plant in? Is it better now? I would have liked to help with you questions regarding the roots, but I am too new to plants for that; I'd say they look okay although they do seem short... and too compact? Actually, it looks like a cutting that is growing roots... but someone else might know better!

Thanks to The Logician LLC and rhizo_1 for the answers. I found these on a window sill (outside) while staying at a friend's house in Galway, Ireland. It has been a warm spring with little rain. They are quite tiny, a few mm in length, and move very quickly. They did not move indoors.

Weed02 - Common Oxalis (Oxalis stricta)
Weed04 - One of the Sandmats (Chamaesyce sps.)
Weed05 - Purslane (Portulaca oleracea)
Weed06 - Acacia seedling?
Weed08 - Carpetweed (Mollugo verticillata)
Weed11 - Another Sandmat (Chamaesyce sps.)

The spurges are clear. There are several common spurges in this part of the country. Number 8 is best identified by those fruit on the underside of the leaves. This is not a compound leaf (like acacia) but many opposite leaves. It is bitterchamber.

Identifying weeds is tricky. One has to remember to consider the part of the country for some major clues.

Good call rhizo_1, I had over looked the description of the seed on the underside of each leaf. This weed apparently is also called Shatterstone or Stone Breaker Herb. It also supposedly has some significant medicinal uses and it's a native to China. What odd common names though. I wonder how they came about. I just looked it up and there's a native species up here in Kansas(and all across the SE) called Carolina Leaf Flower (Phyllanthus caroliniensis). Now that common name makes some more sense.

Thank you everyone for the ID's. I've been googling for an hour, trying to figure out the best way to deal with them - looks like damage control right now (pull them up) and pre-emergents/post-emergents/yank 'em/tons of mulch next spring.
I about fainted when I read your other common names kman - "shatterstone" "stonebreaker"?? and the description of the thing "each capsule (under EACH pair of leaves) contains six (SIX??) seeds"!! If you could see my yard you'd understand this - I'M DOOMED!!!
Also excited - I got a "Rose Mallow" hibiscus (which is already blooming this morning, red flowers the size of saucers), and a "Lady in Red" hydrangea and a couple of white lantana for planters yesterday, - as soon as the rain lets up I'm outside!! Weed, plant, weed more sounds like the plan for the day.
