HELP!!! Animal(s) thinks they're at an all you can eat buffet
Comments (25)Thanks all for the Replies. I forgot to mention that this is my first year gardening, so I'm a bit on the beginner side. My first gardening area just turned out too small, then the second area wasn't enough. So I made a third, fourth and a fifth. I have crops all over the place (they do look great). That is why the fence idea was ruled out, just too much ground to cover. The other day, I caught him going into my shed. I closed the door on him and tried to figure out how I was going to remove him without having to kill it. Well, next thing I know, he somehow pushed the shed doors open (it was latched) and escaped. I have a burrow in my yard, I believe that the shed and my yard is their vacation home. Their place of residence is my neighbors yard. I could always lay stone all the way around my yard, but I would need a lot. (its at least close to 1000 feet of fence. I'm going to get a trap and trasfer them to a much nicer place far away from my garden....See MoreWhat on earth do I have? Animal.
Comments (6)My uncle brought over his humane trap and he was in it within ten minutes. It's a groundhog. My uncle just returned and put him in the trunk of his car to relocate the little fellah. He said he was an older one because he had gray hair. I was really sad and my uncle promised to take him to a nice place with water and good cover, plus leave the vegetables he'd used in the trap. Goodbye my friend. I'm sorry you had to enter witness protection, but you tore up a lot of my area and made a big hole. I hope you'll have a nice life in the nature preserve and find a lady friend. He was SO CUTE, even with his nasty rat teeth. I wanted to make him into a pet, but I was not allowed. Comments (2)We get holes in the yard, too, and sometime get curious enough to try filling them up like you did. And like you experienced, they never do. Hopefully if there was a snake in there, the flood encouraged him/her to go out another hole and never come back. Probably not but clinging to this thought allows me to get to sleep. I don't really care who/what dug a hole, as long as there are no snakes in it! This may help you discover why there's a hole in your yard: what dug this hole?...See MoreIdentify this animal hole
Comments (3)if it were skunk.. you would know ... i know when they walk thru the yard the next day .... shove that rock in it.. and see what happens.. god help me.. that is all i would do.. lol ... lets see if the hole is 'active' .... also.. you could rake the soil.. to loosen it all.. and see if you cant capture some foot prints ... i cant focus on the scat.. nor the penny.. but its a great scale.. lol ... ken...See Morekyme
