Vines for east facing massive trellis

Morning all.

I'm building a large treated wood trellis...20' wide and 10' high with massive posts and timbers. Two side panels will be 6' wide each and have very solid lattice...the central panel has a half circle at the top and lattice. It will be strong...similar to ones I've seen in botanical gardens.

My question is that I'd like attractive vines on it...probably not perennials like wisteria or climbing hydrangea...because I'd like a lot of color throughout the growing season and too old to wait for those vines to do much. I'm considering bird's nest gourds because I know they'll occupy the entire trellis' width and height...but they're not that colorful.

Do you have other suggestions? Clematis, sweet peas, etc. will be too small and insignificant and unfortunately central IL. isn't a place where bouganvilla will do well in a single season.

The trellis faces east at the end of a new bedroom addition so I will have only morning sun. The soil is a nice loam that is well drained.

Thanks in advance for your help.
