tomato plant(s) have purple stem(s)

I have noticed that in a number of tomato plants that I started from seed (sweet 100 and large cherry) which are now about 8-9 weeks old, they seem to have purple stems (not the usual green) and have not had too much top growth for the last couple of weeks. Any advice. Will be more than happy to provide any additional information you may be seeking. Thanks.
