The Small White Morning Glory (Ipomoea lacunosa) often crosses with Cotton Morning Glory (Ipomoea cordatotriloba). The resultant hybrid plants are named Ipomoea x leucantha, and are likely to be found in your area. Here is a link that might be useful: Hybrid Morning Glory

Tom, My large vine was hit pretty hard by the cold. I've already dug it out and replaced it with another one. These vines look good if they are cut back to the main stem or cut back to 6-8 inch" in the spring. They bloom only bloom on new growth. So, the more you cut them back, the more blooms you will have, the more cuttings you will have to start. They get big in one growing season! And full sun..... Looks like a trade. Are you going to Lori's swap? Wallisadi, I don't consider the solanum seaforthianumm invasive. I went out this morning and there are about a dozen that have popped up so far. I have several around the yard. I think they are a pretty little vine. On the other hand I'm up to over 100 1 foot oak trees that I have yank out in the past month. That's considered invasive/or a nuisance in my yard when they reproduce that much!.......cheryl

I'm certain that's what it is, and it's probably no surprise that the leaves are huge. After all, it's growing in about a foot of very well-aged chicken manure. From what I've read, it's a perennial vine. This is a very happy one. No, we don't normally let our pens get into that condition, but it was a brooder roost for young pullets. It hadn't been cleaned for a while due to illness. When the wind took the roof off and about 30 birds with it, I just didn't have the energy or inclination to go clean out the pen. We moved the remainder to a safer pen and just left the old barn alone for the rest of the year. This spring, the sun and rain did its trick and we have a jolly green giant vine in there. I'll let the fruits ripen and see what we think of them. I've never tasted one of them. It should be an interesting experiment. Pat

I was about to warn you that this plant is a MAJOR weed, I can't tell you how many I've had to pull, hack and whack, but seeing where you live, I guess that probably won't be a problem.
