Vigna caracalla - new to plant

Last year, probably on a day that I had way too much coffee, I bought plants at the end of June from Park Seed. I couldn't say no to the price. They grew but I learned that this is not the time time to get these plants growing. No flowers, but vine growth.

On Saturday I received my 6 vigna caracalla plants, again purchased from Park, all in very good condition. And now the plan:

Initially I'm transplanting them into a big pot with a 4 foot trellis (previously home to my spring freeze killed off Cezanne clematis). I will keep the pot in about 8 hours of sun (morning to early afternoon) until the plants get established well.

My plan, and here's where I need your advice, is to either move the pot near a fence where the plant will then get about 4-5 hours of afternoon sun OR...I can leave the pot near my potting shed and let her take off up and over the building (which is about 8 feet tall).

Comments are most appreciated. Thank you!

Ciao,
