NEW: August, Time for the Rainbow Swap!!

okay, I'm barely sliding this in under the wire!

Sir Isaac Newton in his early physics experiments decided the colors of the rainbow were Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet. Many of us remember them as ROY G BIV. Are there only seven colors? Newton believed in numerology and thought special numbers governed all natural phenomena. Seven is a very special number. There are seven days in the week, seven openings in our head, seven seas, seven continents and many other important sevens. So, of course he found exactly seven colors. In reality, the rainbow colors merge gradually into one another. Our eyes sort them into groupings. How many colors are in the rainbow? Anywhere from three to, as many as, several thousand. It depends on who is counting and what they believe is there. Funny how what we expect to see is often what we see.

In this swap we're doing the colors of the rainbow: red, orange., yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. You can send one of each, a couple of each, but try to get as many colors that you can! We're doing a quick turn around to try to get caught up on our months.

1. The total number of seeds is 10 packs and extras if you want. They can be flowers, herbs, or veggies.

2. The sign-up date is until Sept 4th

3. They have to be mailed to me by Sept 8th

4. I want to have them mailed back out by Sept 12th.

5. When you sign up, email me and I"ll send you my address.

6. Bubble envelopes only, return address sticker enclosed and enough stamps to mail them back to you.

Let's see how fast we can do a turn around!

Alright, I'm in!!! Hehe! This sounds like a LOT of fun! I need to dig through seeds today anyway, so I'll find some goodies for this too :)I actually have several things in mind already!

Well, I guess I won't be joining you ladies. I haven't traded with anyone in the group before. Sandy has sent me something, and I've been in a swap group with Hazelnutbunny, but haven't swapped with either of them personally (at least I don't think I sent Sandy anything in trade for what she so graciously sent me - if I did Sandy, let the other Carol know)....so.....I have a proposition..... Since I really want to be in on the cookbook/food/goodies swap and join you fun sounding bunch of ladies, does anyone want to swap with 2 people? The one you get from the swap and with ME? THEN I will have a recorded swap with a group member and I can join you! Woohoo! Just think - double your pleasure, double for fun, with lots of stuff, lots of stuff, yum yum yum! lol If no one wants to - or if the hostess would prefer that I don't crash her reign - I'll understand, tuck my tail between my legs and start chanting 'no one loves me, everyone hates me, i'll just go eat worms!'....and sit in the corner for a while. Someone asked me where I work....I'm an LPN in a Veteran's Hospital, and yes, I have had plenty of things happen while I've been here. Especially since I went to the psych ward about 5 years ago. My first 12 years I spent on med/surg.....some good things happened there too. Like the night this really crotchety old coot got ticked off about something. I was in his room and he grabbed his urinal to empty it and left the room. I called after him that he had a bathroom there in his room, and he kept walking. The charge nurse was standing at the counter on the OUTSIDE of the nurses station, she had just reached over the counter and answered the phone. As I stood at his door calling to him, he walked passed her and without missing a step, raised his urinal and emptied down her back! Since she was someone I not only wasn't friends with, I actually couldn't stand her - I thought this was too too funny. She did not share my opinion. Oh, by the way, he was on the medical floor because he had gotten sick while on one of the psych wards....go figure! Maybe he thought she had moles/voles. LOL. Well, will get out of here for tonight. I still have cartoon to send out to soldiers, clothes to fold for my grandaughter that is going home tomorrow (sniff sniff) and have to be to work in 5 hours. Woe is me! HELLOOOOOOOOOO! I've been missing in action and I'm really sorry about it. I've been busy, busy, but now can communicate with everyone while I am on the road cause I'm going to invested in a Blackberry. Right now I have a loaner for a couple of weeks to see how I like it. It is an older model, and does not take pictures but I love the idea that I can access the internet while not at home. I've been working both my jobs, went to Greenbay/Wrightown, Wisconsin to pick up Shelby and Deanna's two Boston Terriers on the 24th of July. I can't say I enjoyed getting out of the Ohare airport and going through the Port of Milwaukee was no picnic either. Oh lord, I could have never done it without the GPS a friend let me borrow. So, while Shelby and DeAnna are celebrating the 7th year that Shelby is in remission on the beaches of Antigua. I get the pleasure of watching the two little devils. I love them, but garden dogs they are NOT. The weather has been great and we've been able to shut off the central air and enjoy opening the windows. But, the little devils whine, cry, bark, and run from window to window and I can hear them even when I'm way out back. Needless to say this drives me nuts, and don't get me started with how bad they terrorize my cats. Will I be glad to take them back? OH LORD YES! The idea of skipping August sounds good to me. This will give me time to get caught up on more boxes. Speaking of boxes Alana and Sassy what kind of fragrance DO YOU NOT LIKE. I only have one of the Pillow talk and would hate to send something you guys didn't want or use. Kat, Welcome, and glad to hear you are doing well with your shoulder surgery. I would love to see pics of your Great Danes, they are wonderful dogs! Vic, I wish I could help you out with a cat, but........I'm sorry,as much as love ya. Would I drive cross country to bring you on? NO,NO,NO! You say Why? (see above for my trip through Chicago and Milwaukee. Crazy drivers, the speed limit says 65 and these people are going 90. Trust me, if you don't keep up with the flow they will run you over. I just about had a semi up my you know what. I believe I used several new cuss words. Tracy did I see you say you blew up Alana's garden. Now what could Alana possibly do to have you do that? Or should I ask? Sassy, I tell you what, I will trade you Kensie for two little angels for a week. HeLLO to everyone else. I miss you all! This is my only day off and I am leaving for Chicago Friday then Shelby will drive from the airport to his house. I will be coming back on the 9th. Hi Linda!

I've been lurking, but missed this round for the color swap. My friend Christy (bonechickchris)is participating. However, her internet was knocked out over a week ago by a storm which is why you haven't heard from her. She was hoping to have her internet back up yesterday, but so far no emails from her & I haven't seen her post on the forums.

I just wanted to get you up to speed so you knew why she hasn't been around.

Hello everyone!

You are the FIRST place I am posting after being back online. First of all, I must apologize for my absense. I lost my internet service for over a week, and could not get online, or check emails. Because of that, I could not get Linda's addy up to send the seeds, although I still have them here all ready! LOL!
I have never had this happen before in a swap, and I feel so guilty. I am SO SORRY that I was unable to send my seeds out in a timely fashion. I have never been unable to not do so before.
Please know that I am very sorry again! I cannot believe how much everything changes when your internet is down for only a week or two! LOL! I was lost in so many ways!
I also wanted to thank Becky for spreading the word of my problems. She is awesome!
I hope everyone enjoys their seeds! So sorry I could not enjoy them with you!

ok! I have mostly veggies though. If I remember correctly doing the black swap, you like flowers. I do not have many flowers. Is it ok that I send veggies? If you cannot use them, I understand. Or atleast let me know what veggies you do plant.
