Temperature question (hardening off)

I've started hardening off my tomato plants (I only have 5) and my question is: Will temperatures in the upper 40s for a couple hours harm them if I put them out for the day before I leave for work? Our local temps are lows in the 40s and highs in the uppers 50s/low 60s. I leave for work around 6:30 and it's daylight, it's just cool and I want to make sure it won't do any permanent damage for them to be sub-50 degrees for a few hours in the morning.

Thanks
