Looks like overwatering to me. My second guess would be to omuch fertilizer.

Patrick - tell us about the copper spray you used. What brand name, how was it mixed (how strong) and when applied as in direct sun, air temps etc. It is 'possible' it caused this but IMO the odds are slim.

What is most resembles is damage from herbicides. Either drift spray, soil contamination, etc. They cause the type of damage seen in your first 2 pictures.

And I also agree that the plants have been over-watered. Have you had lots of rain like many of us lately?

Thanks for the replies. I did leave town for a few days so not quite sure about overwatering due to rain but it is possible. I did have the sprinklers setup to come one each day at 430AM for about 15 min. The previous week was pretty hot so I did not want the plants to die off due to lack of moisture. Most of my plants look pretty good but this group is affected by who knows what.

The spray is made by Southern Ag (liquid copper fungicide). I followed the instructions and believe they called for 1 teaspoon per gallon. I mixed it in a gallon spray container with a hose and applied it in direct sunlight and about 82 degrees or so. I was thinking this may be the cause as well but not all plants are affected like this Big Rainbow. Hope this additional information helps.

What about the possibility of herbicide damage? There have been several discussions here lately, some with similar pics, that resulted from herbicide contaminated soil or mulch or neighborhood drift. Any chance a neighbor or the county may have sprayed weed killers nearby while you were gone? It can drift for 1/2 mile on windy days. Any possibility your sprayer had herbicide in it before?

Fungicides, or most any other chemical sprays, shouldn't be sprayed in the heat of the day or in the direct sun. Doing so often results in plant damage. Cooler, early AM spraying is the safest.

But your pics appear to have more of a internal systemic sort of problem than one would usually see with fungicides and that is what made me think of the herbicides.

Dave, thanks for jarring my memory. Yes, I used the same gallon container to spray weed killer maybe 1 week prior to the spraying of the copper fungicide. I did a quick rinse of the container but there may have been a bit of residue still left, who knows. The plants are contained within my fenced yard so I doubt any overspray from a neighbor would have entered the property but I cannot say for sure. Strange as not all the plants are affected just a few in one area of the garden. Not sure what if anything I can do about it now?
