Got mango scion wood?

Anyone out there have dwarf/condo mango scion wood? I have a 1 year mango that I planted from seed, and its begging to grafted. Please let me know if you're willing & able to send some cuttings my way. My zip code is 24502, and I'll pay for expedited shipping. Thanks!

Hi, I wanted to know if someone can help me ID this fruit tree! I bought this seedling here at the local Governmental Nursery and then I ordered another 2 seedling of Grumichama! I compared the two and they are totally different, the 2nd seedlings are 100% Grumichama but the 1st seedling has half leave size!

Clark; Thank you for the link to nuttrees.net which was unknown to me. I may want to use them in the future. I had thought of getting Butternut scion wood from trees in our township park and went to check on them last week. The township had cut them down to make a baseball field. Happy ending: while perusing the Butternut stump in my yard I noticed an eight inch twig with buds that was left there unknowingly. It should grow quickly in the spring and produce what I need.

Yeah, if you read my thread on all that you'd quickly realize it can get expensive very quickly. Honestly, there are quite a few excellent varieties that I haven't seen in the US at Fairchild or any other place but I haven't emailed them directly so I could be wrong. I even had a scientist friend willing to split all the costs with me as I put a mango spell on him. We'd go to lunch with a crazed fanatical look in our eyes talking about mangos. You'd think we were gonna rob a bank or something...lol I do have other ideas so PM me or message me at abhella@sbcglobal.net. :) Desimango

That sounds like a good plan. I had the same bloom on one of my ARS apples last year (Court Pendu Rose) and was able to graft it successfully, though it had me scared because it was so late to leaf out. I think that is due to the variety, more than the bloom. I did try to wash it off with Clorox wipes a few times during storage, but it comes back and I'm not sure how much of a difference I made. Make sure you aren't storing fruit in the same fridge. It gives off ethylene gas, which can ruin the scionwood. I used to have apples in my 2nd fridge, then aired it out a bit before I started storing wood. But, even so, I'm concerned enough about residue to double-bag everything (several zip-locks inside a big trash bag). I've got a thermometer in the fridge and check it every so often. It was too high 1-2 weeks ago, at 38-39. I've tweaked it to be around 33-34.

I have Pickering scion, but now is not the right time of year to graft or get scion wood, let alone ship it. Post again in spring and you will have many more responses.
