What I meant by being debilitated was you are not bedriden.
Even though you are having problems you can still walk, and get out in the yard.
SO THAT is a blessing, I hope you are able to always do that, I would hate to see you get to that point I hope it never happens hon!!!
I know your not in tip top shape anymore, not many of us are. I have more creaks and cracks in my body. IT sounds like a haunted house when I move around LOL, but you are still mobile EVEN if it is at a snails pace, it is better then no pace at all ;).

Bunny, I totally know THAT feeling and the worse part is: It's a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and all the jelly sqished out!

Yeap, the Petal Pushers month as been fun.

I have so much going on that I need to take care of, I needed the deverison for a while.

As far as I know Deb is still with us, I haven't heard otherwise. I am not sure what is going on with Kym, I haven't talked to her in a while either.

Deb-It's so great to hear from you! I know you ladies have be busy with the White Elephant Swap on PP. I'm a little disappointed I couldn't join this month. Also because I went away for a few days and that makes that kind of a swap difficult. I've never done a White Elephant Swap. Deb, you sound really busy! Bet you need a vacation.

Fran-Yes, you are so right. I am thankful I can still get around. I can still work in my gardens even though I stay away from heavy lifting. My DH does some buggy lugging for me which I appreciate. I guess lately with thoughts of a B'day it's been getting me down. Thanks for the pep talks.LOL

I woke up to 55 degrees today. I can't imagine those high temps in Texas and other areas. We usually get temps in the high 90's and sometimes hitting a little over 100 degrees. It's actually a pleasure to work outside for me. We've had 2 beautiful days so far. I know we had rain while I was away because my DH forgot to empty my wheel barrow. It was half full of water.

As promised farm pictures-
New Sign-They just put this up a few months ago. My nieces and nephew had the sign made up for my sister and BIL for Christmas. They won the Dairy Of Distinction award last year. This award is given to dairy farms that are pretty/attractive to look at.

Oh, They are adorable! Just makes you want to rub their little noses!!

I'm back from taking Sis out of state for second opinion. They are going to do another biopsy next Thursday so we will be flying back out again. We loved the doctors there and will probably be seeing them throughout the treatment.

I had a wonderful birthday yesterday. All 3 of my siblings called me and sung Happy Birthday. I also received a box from my little sister. Cards from my middle sister (the one with the dairy farm) plus she put a gift inside and from family and friends. DH, DD, SIL took me out to dinner to the Lone Star Steakhouse. They have the best food! DH brought the Birthday Cake and gave it to the hostess to put in the refrigerator. After dinner all the waitresses brought out the cake, with lit candles, and sang happy birthday to me. After that I opened presents. DH gave me a gift certificate to a local Nursery, totally unexpected. He's done this before but I didn't expect it again. DD made me a cross stitch hummingbird and framed it. It's beautiful! She also made me bath and body products in my favorite scent....Lemon Verbena.... All in all it was a wonderful day. I am so blessed that I have a wonderful family who care about one another.

Nik-Thank you for the birthday wishes. We've been sending warm thoughts and prayers to your SIL and DS. Not forgetting you and your family.

Mariann~ The company said they sent it on 7/12, in a manilla envelope along with a catalog. The company is Gilbert H Wild. Did you receive a catalog from them?

Melissa-The only Manila enve. I've received is from Park Seed which had seeds in it. Can they cancel the first GC and resend? Or would you prefer to just cancel it all together? I'm bringing up their web site now to have a look. I would love to have some plants from them. Can't believe this has happened.

For the first time ever, I'll be glad when this summer is over. It has been such a whirlwind! Sis and SIL are both doing much better and both are recuperating from recent surgery. I'm doing better too, preparing for a new school year and all that it has to bring. I'm praying I will see some miracles this year with SIS and SIL.
Still haven't replaced the two cars that were totaled in the storm but insurance is taking care of it. We just have to find a replacement in that price range. I don't even have the heart to walk out into the back of my yard. Dead flowers make me depressed. I am working my way back there - inch by inch as they say:):) Fall will be a period of renewal for me as I prepare new beds and get ready to wintersow. I am sure the gardening will be therapy when I get there.
Fran, I have sent you another email. I am requesting that you do not worry about me (box) for awhile. This is not a great time for either of us. Let's hold off until we can both enjoy it. I hope you are doing well:)

I know what you mean about seeing the yard, the cars...and everything being dead. Mercy, do I KNOW about that! And how I wish I didn't!! LOL Things are still not back to normal around here, but I will tell you what......Spring really helped with that. Seeing flowers pop up through all the dead stuff & debris. It was amazing.
I know that fall will help with that, Nikki. Go buy yourself some Mums in pretty pots to set outside and stare at. Trust me, they will help. :O)

Melissa-I do use and love Lemon Verbena from B & BW. Ours doesn't sell it anymore. My DD found a L & V oil and has been making me bath and body products. I have so many allergies that this is the only fragrance I can use without to many side effects.

I'm mailing my order into Gilbert H. Wild tomorrow. I added a few $ and ordered 6 DL's. I'm so excited. I try and buy a few DL every year but finances have been a little tight this year. Here's what I ordered:

I noticed this summer that I have an over abundance of peach & purple colored daylilies! Not that I don't LIKE peach or purple....they are just not my favorite colors in flowers! I'm more of a red or pink gal. I will be doing some trading later this fall, see if I can get some variety. LOL I really like flowers with bold colors- like the DL's with contrasting edges & piecrusts. I honestly don't know HOW I ended up with peach daylilies. I don't usually go for the pastels! :O)

Off to fix supper for the herd. I think they are about to declare a mutiny if I don't get crackin'!

Mariann, I am glad to hear that you are coming to terms with your new age, you know you can't go through life hating it, it is going to come whether you approve of it or not.
We just have to figure out HOW to deal with it, and I was worried if you were going to accept it soon or not.

Thanks bunches, I wish I had enough stamps left over to send out everything. That is how I managed to be able to get Vic her box for the Petal Pusher's this month, I have some stamps but I am using my last ones on her box so sad, gosh I hope something good comes through for us this month. I need a break.

My neighbors are the sweetest, I had put our house number out at the top of the road, I painted it on a rock and situated some rocks around it. I THOUGHT it looked great but was lacking something and I had been trying to come up with something to dress it up.
Well my 2 neighbors got together and decided to get me something for it, one of lady's son makes outside yard ornaments. Well the other lady talked to him and told him they wanted to give me one of his pieces so they got it put together and brought it to me today!
I was so pleased, it will look good up there. It is 3 square pieces of wood with two ropes around the bottom like anchor rope, then on the shortest pieces there are 2 squirrels, one the tallest piece is a decoravatied piece that says serenity with flowers (it is a fake rock) and behind that is a solar light!!! It will be perfect up there!!!
I was speechless when I saw it, it really was what I needed to place up there! I am so happy with it, those ladies are so nice!
They told me to make sure I cement it in so it doesn't walk off! I said oh yes we will be sure to do that! I can't wait to get it put up there, we don't have any cement or I would put it up there now.

Ok, well, gotta go check on the other threads, can't wait to see what Deb sent you Mariann.
I will see if I can get in touch with Kym, I hope she didn't drop this last month.

All the plants are 20% off and they serve free lunch. YUMMY I should be able to really stock up. I have an ongoing list of plants that I want, most of them for the shade. Melissa-Sent me more presents!!! I received planter hummingbird feeders, they are adorable. Two Garden Ideas magazines, American Patchwork & Quilting Magazine and a Quilting How-To's booklet...I just love magazines and am looking forward to reading the Quilting mags. Plus Garden/Household Shears (great mine are really beat up) and a bunch of things for my purse: Dark Chocolate and Cherry Lip Butter, Avon Emergency Emerys (I always need these), Burt's Bee's Lip Shimmer-color Merlot (love these too) and a packet of small pens on chains for my key ring. Everything except the mags were in this adorable cloth gift bag. How cute is that...Do I really have to pass it on??? Thank you again for your thoughtfulness and your generosity. You're a real honey bun!

Deb-I received your B'day Box! What a great selection of books. I can't wait to start reading the Quilting books.

Deb sent me Thimbleberries 'Christmas Cottage' crafts, decorating, etc. for Christmas book, 'More-Quick Country Quilting' book by Debbie Mumm, 'Quick Country Quilting' book also by Debbie Mumm and Weight Watchers 'Great Cooking Every Day' book. I'm always looking for new weight control recipe books. Now I can give my daughter back her book that I borrowed. I'm so excited about the quilting books! What I like about these books is that there is so much information for a beginner, like me. I also received a cute memo pad, Oil Diffuser with reed sticks in a Cedarwood and Rosemary fragrance, Hazelnut Cream Tea Lights and a Magnetic list Pad. I always have one of those pads on my refrigerator.

Deb-Thanks so much for your thoughtful gifts. Can't tell you how much I'm going to enjoy read the books and trying out new crafts. These will be great for starting Christmas gifts and winter crafting. My daughter loaned me 2 of her quilting books, not that she quilts mind you.LOL She just happened to join a book club and these books were offered inexpensively. Now that I have my own I can give hers back.YEAH!!!

I love Debbie Mumm's quilting style, very colorful/cute! The quilts do look easy to make, just very time consuming. I wish I had the patience to quilt. I also have a step by step video from Debbie (vhs) somewhere in my craft room. I watched it once. If I find it soon, would you like me to send it? Or do you only have a DVD? We don't even have a vhs anymore, that's why I'm asking.

Better make this short- it's laundry day and all of our beds need to be done. It seems as though I'm never caught up. Everything needs to be done over and over! ;)

She did mention dropping when diene and Vic did, but honestly I thought she was joking and she hasn't been back pretty much since then except once that I remember.

Deb, Good to hear from you too. Hope things are going well for you with two houses and yards to keep up with.
As for me, I went back to work 2 weeks ago and the kids returned this week. I'm excited about a new year with a wonderful new crew. They are always so sweet and excited at the beginning of the year. Sis is in treatment finally - chemo etc. Yall please continue to pray for complete healing. It's going to be a long journey but one that we will fight with God's help and in His timing.
Well, I know it's August so this group is about "wrapped up" but I'd love to hear from you ladies ok?

Melissa-I was named after my Aunt Marianna. My mom just dropped the a. That's why it's spelled the way it is. I've always loved the name Marianna. I got my DL's from G. Wild. You won't believe this but they ran out of 'Clothed In Glory' and one of the other ones. They gave me a credit so I'll try again next year. Hope they bloom next year I can't wait to see them. Thanks again!

Nikki-Where ever you are.LOL I'm going to Well-Sweep on Saturday. They are having their Customer Appreciation Day all plants 20% off. I've already started working on my list. I'll let you know what I buy.

Yippee! Mariann, I am so happy to hear that you are going to Well-Sweep. Their catalog had lots of stuff I'd like to try - especially the scented geraniums. I'd love to get some of those for my sis. I really hope you enjoy your trip and get some great plants. You deserve it!!!
Although the debris in my yard is slowly but surely decreasing, the heat has been unbelievable. When sis got sick and the trees fell, I just didn't have the heart to get into the gardens. I was so sad to see my babies under all that stuff. Thinking about my sis, I just couldn't bear to go out and look at struggling plants.
But lately, I've been peeking around a bit. I'm amazed that some flowers are still going strong, and others are recovering on their own. My Ruds are gorgeous as are the zinnias. I have two kinds of JMG that amaze me each time I go see them. I have variagated KMOGG that I wintersowed that is absolutely beautiful! I wish I had sown more. I must figure out how to harvest the seeds. I've harvested some seeds from a yellow 4 Oclock and a broken one too. I also have a vine white lady that is right at the gate that I love to see when I enter each day. Other things blooming away are several types of amaranthus, cosmos, and dahlias. I guess God's been out there doing the gardening for me. Isn't that wonderful?!?! I am looking forward to the fall when I hope to rebuild some beds and get my hands in the dirt again.
So, what's blooming for yall? I was happy to see yall posting before our little thread went off the page.
Fran, How are you? I see your swap is going strong. I can't imagine shipping anything in the heat we've had lately - over 100 degrees.
Bunny, You doing ok? I miss talking to you since I've been away from the computer so much. Kids doin good?

Gosh I am losing it I tell you, I didn't see this until today!
I am busy with the swap, I am having fun the plants so far are all amazing, NIKKI it is hotter the Hades here too but we have been getting rain we are supposed to get more today and tomorrow, I will go get my plants ready in the rain because I can't take the heat, I sure can take getting wet from rain a whole lot better then from the humidity!

Mariann, I SOO wanted to get you a GC for Well Sweep to go along with the one you got from Nikki! I am so sorry, we still are not straightened out here, we are still playing catch up and none of the jobs we had lined up panned out THAT is so freaking irksome!
I had hoped to be able to take care of everyone I owe by now but it is going to be a little longer.

I sure do miss talking to all of you, Nikki you need to email me LOL, been a while since we chatted about anything.
I am glad to hear your yard isn't as bad as you thought, meaning didn't lose near what you thought you would.
I would LOVE some of those seeds from those plants you meantions the vines anyway...hint hint LOL.

Mariann~ Oh! They sold out of clothed in glory?! Well, THAT is frustrating! I don't know what has been up with them this year....they seem to be having all sorts of issues.
I hope that you have ALL KINDS of fun at Well Sweep! It sounds like you will, though! I was going to get you a GC for them as well, but I kinda figured that everyone else would be doing that...not that that would have been a BAD thing, necessarily! LOL You would've been in hog heaven, I imagine! But I just couldn't figure out how to purchase one, and thought maybe sending cash would be risky...Nikki is WAY more brave than I am! :O)

Nikki~ Glad to hear things are looking up for you! If you need any daylilies- just let me know! LOL I will be cleaning out my flower beds next month, and will have tons to share. (Heck, that goes for all you girls as well!) :O)

I remember seeing the forsythia blooming under neath all of the broken trees & limbs after the ice storm. We still haven't gotten the hillside cleaned up- they'll probably bloom under everything again NEXT spring. But it was a sweet reminder that things weren't as bad as they seemed....God took care of us through it all!

Nik, how is your sis doing? I hope things are going well for her & everyone in the family. Still LOTS of prayers going out for ya'll. I hope you know that. *hugs*
