Moving seedlings to bigger pots: mixing real soil w/ sterile mix?

When I moved my tomato seedlings from 1 inch to 2 inch cells (after first true leaves appeared), I used a half-and-half mix of sterile starter mix (in which seeds had germinated) and 'real garden soil' which contains organic compost. I want the seedlings to adapt to real soil conditions and benefit from the compost, but I just discovered that real soil can cause damping off disease. After a week or so in the bigger pots, the seedlings seem to be sturdy and growing well. Should I apply NODAMP or a light sprinkling of cinnamon, just in case?
