new pics of lychee and mango developing fruits

I posted this message on the yahoo group, so if you have already read it there- skip reading this.

here are a couple of new pics

of my mauritius lychee and my fairchild mango. I am also posting a

picture of a tiny mauritius seedling that is coming along nicely that

i intend to graft on to my existing mauritius tree once it is bigger

to add a second root system ala ohiojay. (if you look closely

at the picture, you will see there appears to be a second sproutling

poking through, just right of exact center of the pot- see arrow and

let me know whether you think that is a lychee sprout .

By the way, what should I do with the lychee pannicles that are empty

and have no developing fruit- should I leave them on or should I snip

them off?

as you will see, i have decided to leave 4 mangoes on my fairchild.

while i understand that many if not all the posters here would not

leave more than 1 mango on such a young tree, I have decided that as

my space issues will not allow my tree to get very big, I will in

fact be quite happy if the tree diverts its energy into mango

production at the expense of tree growth. (the two plants on either side of the mango are a a

black beauty mulberry and a green gage plum).

Interestingly, my alphonso mango which is about 3 times the volume of

the fairchild dropped all its baby mango fruit- it was going through

a major growth spurt at the same time as it put out a blossom

pannicle, and so I guess too much energy was being expended in the

growth spurt for it to be able to keep the mangoes.

Finally, there are some pictures of my growing mauritius lychees. i

have a grand total of 5 fruit on the tree, but if they make it to

fruition, that is 5 more than I dreamed possible.
