Calcium/Magnesium ratio
Comments (4)I always figured that 4:1 was about ideal Ca:Mg ratio in containers. You shouldn't have any trouble if you're using the FP 9-3-6, if you incorporate 1/3-1/2 cup of lime per cu ft (about 8 gallons) of soil. If you plan on growing tomatoes & get some BER on early fruits, don't be dismayed. With your plan, it's almost certainly an issue related to physiology and not soil chemistry. Comments (9)Yo Randall, If a those nuts, hulls and leaves fill the soil I would think that they will hold a lot of moisture..... gut says they give major nutrients (good or bad) as well. you might want to try shielding them (soil for sure and maybe foliage)a bit in the intense heat and see if you can avoid overwatering. lower leavese turning yellow can be a sign of too much agua. Some leaf drooping in the day seems totally o.k. from what I have read and experienced as long as they bounce right back when given shade, so don't stress to much if they look a little down. dj This post was edited by djoy on Tue, Jul 8, 14 at 0:25...See MoreGetting calcium sulphate and magnesium sulphate in Greece?
Comments (8)Hi Jenny From a quick research that I've done on the net I haven't found any supplier, but I know there are, since it's used here in Greece to decrease the Ph value in some fields. If I find anything in future, I'm gonna let you know. Calcium Sulphate is called "gipsos" in Greek (the i is pronounced as in "link" and the intonation in the i).When you ask for "Gipsos" you say "Gipso"-"Ãýøï"(accusative not nominative). As for the epsom salts,it's uncommon here. You may find some in pharmacies or healthcare shops. They are called "Ãáèáñôéêà Ãëáôá ÃáãÃçóÃïõ" or "Ãããëéêü ¶ëáò". You may want to use a more common product to decrease the Ph of your soil, which is cheap and easy to find.It is sulphuric iron or green vitriol or "karabogia" in Greek (the intonation in the second a, the a are pronounced as in "up", the i as in "in", the g as the Y in "yesterday". good luck...See MoreWhen to add calcium, magnesium, iron alcaline supplements?
Comments (3)Well, I went and sprinkled a bunch of it all over the plants, with the exception of the vegetable garden and my blueberries. It's the best I can do in this situation as you know. I'll let you know what happens....See Moreanney
