Newbie needs recommendation for container-friendly subtropicals

Hi there! This is my first post.

Can someone please recommend some subtropicals for my gardening adventures that fit the following criteria:

1) Able to self-fruit quickly. Would like to taste the fruit in two or three years and don't want to have two equal plants due to space problem.

2) Container-friendly. Will be growing in pots, so size should be small or species should be able to take heavy prunning. Shrub recommendations are welcome.

3) Able to grow in South Texas hot summers and almost frost-free winters. Most of our winter days are 48ºF with a few days dropping down to 35ºF. Freezing temps are VERY rare.

Besides Barbados Cherry, Annona Squamosa, Tamarillo and Kumquat (these are the ones I currently have), what else would you recommend? I know Papaya does self-fruit the first year but I would like to have something a little bit more exotic. :)

Thanks in advance.
