ok, at what point to you thin your seedlings...

I've also posted this in the WS section, but you mater folks are so darn helpful, I'm hoping to hear back from you as well : )

I've wintersown my tomatoes this year, and I sowed w/a heavy hand...

some of my maters cups have every seed sown coming up (some 6 or 7 of the little guys).

I'm hoping the strong will survive, but in some instances, all are surviving quite nicely and I don't want to make too much competition for root growth... I'm just starting to get some true leaves getting established.

at what point do you thin? and thinning involves just snipping off the stem at the ground level?

I hate the idea of thinning btw... they're my babies [sob] : )

I might actually try to transplant the ones I think I can get away with (far enough apart to not disturb the primary one).
