Sorry ladies, I found something you'll never be good at

Now that I have your attention...

In the past the topic of Martial Arts/Self defense has come up. I study kickboxing and Jiu Jitsu, but I am inclined to leave it all behind and study this form.

PJ has been an avid contributor to these dialogues. However, PJ, sorry ma'am but you just cant "hang" when it comes to this form of MA. You just dont have want it takes to master it.

Jofus, isn't that just great about your Papaya! Yay! I love it when you go out to the garden and something unexpected and wonderful is waiting. :) Tradition, I'm hoping your plant is not this but just in case, I hope it is not a Rose Glory Bower (Clerodendrum bungei) also known as Mexican Hydrangea. It is a beautiful plant with big, pink ball-like flowers, but it is highly, highly, highly invasive. I have read that the roots run under the ground and once it gets established, you can never get rid of it. You can pull up plants for days and new ones will still pop up all over. I was visiting one person's lovely old home garden and they showed me this plant again and again and again. It was everywhere and the gardener was just wringing her hands. There are many different plants with the name "clerodendrum" and "glory bower"/"glorybower", so hopefully yours is not the invasive one. Awww Deb, I feel for you. You did the right thing talking to the "big boss" You don't have to take any crap from anyone and just because Larry helped you get the job shouldn't matter in the least so don't let that bother you. If they didn't need help in that office they wouldn't have hired you. Take pride in the fact that the boss said you are being complimented on your good work. I worked in one of the bank branches on a 6 month contract. One of the tellers that had worked there for a long time took a disliking to me. I was trained on how to do the job the right way but the tellers at this branch did things "the way they always did them" which wasn't the way I learned them. Everytime I asked this teller a question she would answer me then turn her back and hum "if she only had a brain" from the Wizard of Oz. What a Btch. I took it for a couple of months then got her in trouble for not following proper bank procedures - the way I learned them. She wanted me to cash a cheque for someone because "they always did it" I didn't want to do it so I went to the Manager and after further checking found the transaction was fraudulent. I was in the right and that really PO that chick off. LOL She hated me even more after that because doing the job the right way meant asking questions of her customers and not automatically doing every transaction because "they always did it". Everyday of that contract I hated going into work at that branch. I loved working at all the other branches I worked at. After my last contract was up with another branch I was offered another contract to go back to that branch and I refused if that Btch was still there. I never renewed my contract with the bank. I didn't need the negativety. I'm sorry Deb you have been under so much stress from your job. Just do your work as best as you can and at the end of the day leave the job at the door. modar - I painted my dining room in my last home dark burgundy! Deep, dark red, not purple-ish. My DH thought I was nuts, be he did his best to keep his mouth shut, and he ended up loving it! It was a small room, and I think the color warmed up the space and made it feel cozy and rich at the same time. We got lots of compliments. Roarah, I haven't read all of the comments that show distaste for the wedding, but yours caught my eye. I have been fascinated by the Travellers and Roma cultures and want to have a better understanding of their lives vs. what is presented on TV. I have had this book on my shelf for a long time and have only read some of it: I need to finish it. When I've watched the TLC shows, I try to see (even though we all know that reality TV is pure fantasy) what they like about their culture through their eyes. In other words, what works? Why do they have certain traditions? When I first saw the enormous dresses and such, they floored me-- but I figured that everyone has different opinions of beauty. I am certain they would find my wedding dress with nary a sequin to be dull and uninspired. As for the girls who are married at the age of 14-- it is hard to think about that, for sure. I think it is wrong and hope there are activists who are helping them see this and end it. I wonder if it is a case of a culture that has remained very isolated and therefore a throwback to a time where people just didn't live as long . . .so things like marriage and family were done at a much younger age. We see rape and they see tradition. I think it is hard, in general, too, when we are introduced to only certain aspects of a culture or religion that greatly conflict with our own values and traditions. It is difficult to find a balance of respecting others while finding some of what they do to be immoral. What I do is to remind myself of how much I don't know . . .to understand that I am only seeing one tiny piece (and it's from an ethnocentric perspective anyway). But it can still be a challenge!

Yes, the tasks of Mr. Long Dong is very impressive but the day he can shove an object the size of a watermelon out of an opening the size of a lemon then that's when I'll be impressed. lol

What kind of clamp must they be using to not slip off with all that weight. I mean, a tube top has more to hold onto and it will still slip.

Our resident is ready to sign up for classes.
In urology we had a clamp we used after injecting lidocaine gel into the urethra, maybe they use the same type of clamp? Looks a lot like the one on your barrette.
