GOTCHA!! I see the whole picture here! Thank you all for your imput! It is very understandable and I see things a lot clearer now. Choosing non-married couples makes sense for a lot of reasons. I am no longer miffed and will be very supportive. Actually, I am kind of glad it happened this way because it will allow my fiance a better understanding of the relationship I have with my own god daughter. He is such a wonderful partner and father, that any child he is able to have an intimate relationship with would be truly blessed anyway. No - I am not Catholic, but the rest of my family is. To Carla35 - Yes I do know what it means to be a God Parent. I am a God mother to my best friends' daughter. We baptized our son last July so I am very familiar with the Catholic religions practices regarding God parents and the sacrament of baptism. To Colleenoz - My fiance's neices and nephews not calling me aunt doesn't bother me. I used it as an example for you all to better understand my relationship with the children. It is up to their parents and them as to what they call me and if they ever decide to even call me "aunt". Also - we DO have tentative wedding dates set for either November 1st or 8th of 2008. Ya see the thing about composite material is it changes, no matter what brand a person buys its not going to be the same the next day or the next year, there is no telling about the stuff its made by a machine so even if the Co dosent change the make up or get slapped with a class action or has a recall or just stops making it all together,,,,, Machines make mistakes for a lot of reasons it could be they dident get updated, could be a low paid worker tossed a few beer bottles in the mix,could be the raw material wasent up to quality things like that. Some people want composite for some reason, others dont mind the stuff going green every year or little rot holes coming up, or having to frame with sister joists on a break, or having it sag on 16'' centers. Watching the color fade,puting up with the little differances in the texture. Other People are enraged over things like this, I have goten a lot of mail from these Folks, they bought into the hype belived what the Co said and have no place to go either live with it,try for a class action,tear it out and go with something else. And then there are the Srercrcr kind of folks, new wave, modern, this is the material of the Present and its not getting all that much good press. Mabey should Our Business stay on the roll its been on for the last 10 years the composite machine including everything thats invloved in that will probley get a product out there that people can count on,after they have pushed out every mix they can think of and advertized it anyway they want, and just put on hold the enraged customers,, remember them??? I do a fair amount of composite decks, I dont want to do it but the hype is impossible to put away so I use the best I can get and go with it. One high $ material is Plastic Lumber, The Robert over at mrdeck.com has a track record with the stuff and some very nice work, now if a person wanted to go with a sure thing in man made material it is possible with this material, other wize its going to be a roll of the bones for the next few years. Newhomeseeker, I think that the reason that Sylvia may be upset is that you've started numerous threads over the past few months that are mainly complaints about agents with whom you dealt and realtors in general. In addition to this thread, here are the titles of some of the others that you started: Why do some realtors lie when advertising a house? What is wrong with the realtors in my area? Does this sound like a scam? Can't get rid of realtor. Listing agent wants me to sign something before I look at house. Agent calls right after showing (in which you asked the question: "Is this just a slick realtor?") Now, I'm not taking sides in the spat between Sylvia and yourself, and in fact, every one of your posts may be warranted; I'm just trying to offer an explanation as for why she (and perhap other real estate agents reading this board) may be perturbed by your postings.
