I had no tomatoes last year

socks

The bed where I planted the tomatoes last summer has always been somewhat of a compost heap where I put grass clippings, leaves and kitchen scraps. I planted 3 tomato plants there last year which yielded almost no tomatoes. Bushes were very large. Is it because of all the materials which were placed there to decompose?

Also, the area gets only about 5-6 hours sun each day.

I'd like to try again. Any chance I can get some tomatoes out of this patch? I have good luck with bell peppers in the same place.
