Ordered Shiranui/Sumo/Dekopon From Harris Citrus
Comments (110)I have the same tree from the same place and on the same rootstock. So far, I have not repotted mine yet as whatever mix it is in, it seems to like at this point (plus it wasn't potbound when I got it). It is doing some nice flushing of leaves. Rich is a trifoliate orange rootstock and should be okay with this. Here is a GW thread on it with a couple links for more info - [https://www.houzz.com/discussions/rich-16-6-dsvw-vd~4158704[(https://www.houzz.com/discussions/rich-16-6-dsvw-vd~4158704) One of the links at that thread is this (PDF) where on pg 8 there is a category for "Trifoliate Orange" that includes Rich 16-6. Since you are in south Florida (and have a hot/humid rainy season), just make sure that whatever you mix up, drains well but has enough potting mix so that you are not watering it multiple times a day when it's not raining and the sun is blazing (unless you don't mind doing that). Here is mine this morning (we have had on and off rain for the past couple weeks - it is the tree that is sitting in the clay-colored plastic pot to the left of the plumeria & peony) -...See MoreAny update on Shiranui/Dekopon cuttings in California from UCR?

Comments (52)Hi everyone, here is a picture of my SugarBelle. She has the same parentage as Page which is minelleo x clementine. From what I learned on the web, the fruits should look like minneleo but a little bit smaller and sweeter! I give her a little bit of support because she is so thin and is very windy here (it is not a vey good summer). I will remove the stake once she will be inside for winter. Brian... yes temptation is very, very strong! The first time I went to floraexotica I just bought the Dekopon because well, I have to stop somewhere. I couldn t buy to big trees it seems too much at that tome. After I went home, I was not able to forget about the SugarBelle and I am pretty sure that all that thinking and missing shouldn t be good for my health so I went back to buy the SugarBelle! I talked to David from greenscape yesterday and he is ok to put aside a valentine pummelo for me!!! I am very excite!! After that, I will stop for sure!! No more thinking. I will repeat Junk4us everynight: I don t need more trees. I don t need more trees....See MoreHarris Shiranui mandarin (a/k/a Dekopon a/k/a Sumo)
Comments (17)Jenny - Can you please do me a favor when you have a moment and tell me in inches how big the pot is that the shiranui is in? I'm learning that not all 3 gal and 5 gal pots are the same size and I'm trying to plan out spacing and repotting. Also, now that I'm asking, is the ST from FW in a 4x9 pot? They advertise that their entry levels are always in 4x9, but neither tree I received from them was in that size. Thank you and that is such a beautiful tree!...See Moresultry_jasmine_nights (Florida-9a-ish)
