Do you have a Soursop that is producing fruit for you?
Comments (77)The tree on the picture had blooms last fall but the blooms did not turn into fruit for the temperature was falling so I had to take it into my kitchen. No sun and low humidity made the flowers dry and eventually dropped. I am hoping for it to bloom again at the right time this year....See MoreTrade some cherimoya seeds?

Comments (36)I try not to use pesticides on the fruit plant. I just rub the scales dead when they get big enough. Don't let the old mature ones with the brown covering live to long. They give birth to a bunch of small white scales which you can't kill until they get bigger. They are the tiny white spots on the plant. I don't have a problem with the fruit flies as much. There is not much fruit for them to eat. The farmers have seasonal trees that fruit once a year. They starved the rest of the year and die off. I look for tiny spots on the guava's skin. I know when there is a worm. When there is no spots, then I know the fruit it good. The spot are really small The size of a needle point. There is usually an small indentation at the spot. The problem I have is with the Web worms. They kill the new leaves where the flower bloom forms. They build their little cocoon there. The white flies mess up guava tree before and covered the tree in sooty mold from the honey dew it secreted on top of the leaves. I stripped all the leaves off the guava and the white flies left....See MoreNeed Help with Ant Control to Eliminate Scale, Mealybugs, etc.
Comments (3)The only way to eliminate scale is to treat for it - there is no natural control or predatory insect that will completely address the issue (although they can help). And the recommended method is with a horticultural oil applied at the appropriate timing of the life cycle of the scale organisms. Ants can be more easily deterred if you wrap the trunk in a sticky tape or something like Tanglefoot to keep them from climbing the tree. They are just after the honeydew or the sweet, sticky substance the scale excrete - if you control the scale you will also be controlling the ants....See Morejhl1654
